The Body

The crew was teleported to the cafeteria. Everyone seemed really freaked out, but Pink was worried for a different reason. Hopefully Red was slick enough to not get caught. An entire crew would be enough to overpower the impostors. But Red had done missions before - he was gonna be fine, Pink reassured herself. They wouldn't get caught.

White stood, shaking slightly. "I called this meeting because I... I found Blue's body - or, what was left of it. It was just the lower half. Like - like he got perfectly cut through the middle." The crew let out worried gasps and whispers, all talking over each other. Orange, who leaned casually against the table, stiffened. He stayed in that position for a moment, but that moment could have been forever for him. His love, once a bright kid he grew up and with trained with, his best friend... Blue was dead. Orange looked up, tears hidden by his helmet.

"C - cut in half?" Orange yelped incredulously. "This... couldn't have been an accident... could it?" At a loss for any other words, he slumped down onto the table's bench. Cyan slammed her hands down on the table. "Then - someone here is not who they say they are!" She took a deep breath and continued. "Where was the body, White?" White turned towards her. "It was in admin, at the card swipe." Green suddenly drew in a shocked breath. "I - we were just in there with Blue, me, Pink, and Yellow. Blue said that - he said he has a hard time with the card swipe."

"Is that right, Pink and Yellow?" Cyan said. The two nodded their heads in agreement, verifying Green's claim. "We were in Electrical together when the meeting was called," said Yellow. Cyan thought for a second. "Then none of you must have done it. Unless all of you are impostors." Green jumped, afraid of what they would do to him if he got accused. "What? No, there's no evidence that there's more than one!"

Cyan considered this. "Alright, fair enough. I guess we shouldn't jump to conclusions. I'm just freaked out, and rightfully so. Anyway - I was in Medbay with Orange. Where was everyone else?" Purple cleared her throat, holding a purple mini crewmate. The second was in Black's arms. "Black and I were in Security. The kiddos like the cameras..." "Did you see anything on them?" White inquired. "No," Black said, "Only Green, Pink, and Yellow going into Admin. So that's pretty suspicious."

"Well," White said, "Green, Pink, Yellow, I hate to say this, but I think Cyan could be right. I'm not going to jump to any conclusions though. I suppose it is possible that if the impostor isn't you three, they could have gotten past the camera in a different way - wait, no. The only way to get to Admin without passing the camera would be going through the vent, and those are way too small for a whole person in a spacesuit to crawl through."

Cyan contributed her theory. "Maybe the impostor... isn't human. I mean - that sounds a bit crazy, but there are so many things we don't know about space, and maybe an alien wouldn't need the big oxygen pack, or maybe they're flexible, or could even shrink! And the way Blue died - how could a human do that?" White sighed. "Well... I guess that's possible too. I think we should just tread carefully for the moment."

Orange finally worked up the courage to speak to his crew. "I think... I think we should split up. It's probably safer to just stay away from each other for now. I - don't want this happening again." The crew was silent for a moment. Purple put her hand on Orange's shoulder, a comfort he so desperately needed. "Okay, guys," Orange said, "Meeting over. Back to work."
