(Y/N) POV

I'm finally free. I've been dreaming about this moment for years, but I didn't plan this far ahead. All I have is a kitchen knife to defend myself with, and enough food to last me about three days. I shivered as the sunset in the west. I need to find shelter, or the cold will kill me. My worn-out shirt and pants didn't help much if not at all. I walked through the woods; my feet were hurting from the lack of shoes. Sticks start to snap around me and red eyes appear in the dark. I started running faster through the trees the branches and bushes hitting and cutting my skin as I did. I eventually ran into a tree and fell on my back. I looked around me to see beowolves surrounding me as I closed my eyes, accepting my fate. I have nothing left to lose anyway. Going back to 'them' is a worse fate than death. I sat there for what felt like an eternity with almost complete silence besides something breathing in my face. I slowly opened my eyes and saw a grimm I never saw in a book before.

It just sat there, staring at me. I did the same, not wanting to die if it didn't attack me. It leaned in close and sniffed me. Now, I wanted to move, but my body was frozen with fear like my brain was cut off from my whole body. Then the next thing that happened was something I never even expected. It started licking my face. I regained control of my body and laughed as its tongue tickled me. I sat up and we stared at each other again. I slowly reached my hand out to pet it. Before I got close enough to touch it, it pushed its head into my palm. I finally got a good look at the creature before me. It was about three feet tall when it was on all fours, and the length of its body was five feet. "Can you understand me?" I asked, not expecting to get a response. But to my surprise, it nodded its head. "Well, I'll be..." I think of something to ask it, but my attention returns to my surroundings, seeing it's still nighttime. "Do you have anywhere I can stay for the night?" It nods again and motions with its head for me to follow it.

SMALL TIMESKIP

We arrived at a small cave that looked like a wolf's den. I followed the creature inside, and it looked okay for the night. I sit down against the stone wall resting my back. I didn't pack a blanket or anything and the cold was seeping through tares in my shirt. I close my eyes to try to get some sleep. I then feel some kind of fur cover me. I look to see my wolf friend covering me with his body. He positioned himself just right so his bone spikes weren't touching me and so that we both could be comfortable "Thank you." I whispered to it before being enveloped in sleep.

TIMESKIP

I wake up to my friend nuzzling his head against mine. I reluctantly wake up and look at it. "Hey..." I said as I stretched out my arms, still tired. "What's wrong?" it points its head to the cave entrance to show me it was daylight. "Oh. Well, I better get moving." I grab my bag and walk out of the cave. I tell the creature goodbye and walk away, but before I could it bit my arm. I yelp in pain and look at my arm. It's not biting hard, just hard enough to where I can't get away from it. "What are you doing?" It lets go of my arm, and two new marks started to bleed onto my left arm that wasn't there before.
