Secrets of the past (Eng. version)

Chapter 7

The echo of Grimmel's discussion with those trappers made Leila's mood annoying. She watched everything from the top of an empty cage. Being in the shadows, it hadn't been discovered. Kay was by her side also watching as those people argued. He growled low and kept watching. It seemed that they were old acquaintances of Grimmel

"That idiot boy has done all of the work for you" -said Grimmel as he walked- "gathering the dragons in one place. Why bother me?" 

"Because the flock is protected by a Night Fury" -said one of the two men; Chaghatai. 

Both Grimmel and Leila remained static.

There was the last of theirs problems. Both had assumed that the last Night Fury had died several years ago, but that news... 

"Not possible" - denied Grimmel 

Chaghatai laugh with irony 

" Hah, well, it seems one slipped through your fingers" -he said  

"Look, Berk's dragons will follow their Alpha" -Ragnar said -"So we'll pay you to capture him and bring the flock to us. We even have your favorite bait." -The man pointed to a cage in which a white dragon was. Grimmel slowly approached her with intrigue 

"The only dragon they left us from last night's raid" -Chaghatai commented

"A female?" - Grimmel asked 

"So... do we have a deal, old friend?" -Ragnar extended his hand towards Grimmel, but was interrupted thanks to a huge dragon managed to get rid of the chains that seized him and started running towards them While the trappers ran, Grimmel did the opposite. He stood in his place and in a single movement, took out his crossbow and shot the creature, who immediately fell asleep

Everyone looked surprised... except Leila 

"When all is said and done, this young chief will bring me the Night Fury..." -Grimmel said as he walked- "They don't have a leader, just a boy"

"You must be joking if you only plan to face an entire village" -Commented Griselda after all the impact had passed

"It seems you don't know me" -Grimmel smiled-"In recent years I have perfected my traps and weapons. My first officer will take charge of investigating their movements if that's what worries you"

The gray-haired one snapped his fingers and behind his Deathgrippers, Leila appeared with Kay. The trappers were speechless when they saw Kay. It wasn't possible that there was another Night Fury 

"Leila will be in charge of following that chief and his team" -said Grimmel- "I will be aware of everything that happens."

"And you complain about Berk's chief?" - Griselda scoffed -"Did you notice that your first officer is a girl too? With this you show that..." 

Leila's crossbow silenced the woman in surprise, since the girl placed her in her throat

"I'll look for them" -Leila said as she put away her gun and walked away with Kay- "I have pending accounts with the chief..."

The sunlight was hidden among the vegetation of that place. Hiccup was only limited to listening to the typical inconsistencies of Tuffnut while continuing to find out where that Light Fury was

He was beginning to feel stunned by so many words coming out of his friend's mouth 

"Show these naysayers, of which there are many, that you are more than just a malnourished runt with bad hair, strange teeth and a twig for a neck" -said Tuffnut

"You're... you're really bad at pep talks" -Hiccup replied

As they continued walking, they reached the deepest part of the place. Tuffnut on the other hand, kept talking about marriage, but Hiccup stopped paying attention to him when he saw that. Toothless began to track something Hiccup between closed his eyes and caught something bright between the plants. He moved away from Tuffnut (who kept talking) and immediately went to that point. He squatted and took the object. A dart with a strange purple substance
He look more closely and look at Toothless

Something bad was happening Toothless road to Hiccup with reluctance. Being closer, Hiccup was the worst 

"TOOTHLESS!" -Hiccup shouted

The Night Fury was surprised and backed away immediately 

"Don't move a muscle" -continued the chestnut

With determination, he took the branch that Tuffnut held and threw it forward. It was huge his surprise to see that from the ground, a huge dragon trap. The impact that caused both boys to fall was so strong

That was the drop that spilled the glass. It meant there was an intruder between them and didn't plan anything friendly with dragons Still surprised, Hiccup stood with Tuffnut Noises from among the grasses did not go unnoticed. Both boys looked at each other and determined that this should be related to that trap 

"Who is there?" -Hiccup asked the assumption involved

No one answered, but continued to make those annoying noises

"Enough! I'll go for him!" -Said Tuffnut with determination as he was very determined to find out what it was. Hiccup tried to stop him, but knowing what Tuffnut was like, he knew it would be in vain to intervene

"It has to be a joke" -Tuffnut's voice was heard as he climbed through the bushes- "Wait... No, no, no!

The pleas for mercy and screams of pain that Tuffnut gave alerted Hiccup. As he approached, he was shocked by being thrown out of hiding

Leila deigned to leave and positioned herself in front of them with a menacing look. 

"You better not touch me again, ridiculous and scary boy" -she mentioned looking at Tuffnut 

"...Leila?" -Hiccup when he saw her, stood up immediately and approached her- "By Thor... is it really you?"

"Yeah... Hi Haddock" -Leila rolled her eyes with irony- "It seems you didn't forget me at all" 

"What are you talking about? I never did it! I always wondered why you disappeared overnight!" -Hiccup replied 

"That doesn't matter" -Leila denied- 

"I'm here by the way, my friend got hurt and we ended up here, as soon as he recovers, we'll leave."

 "Did anyone come with you? Where is it? Here we can help you "-Hiccup's mouth was closed by Leila's hand

"He knows how to take care of himself, he'll be fine" -she pulled her hand away- "But I'll accept the invitation to go with you, so walk" 

Both Hiccup and Tuffnut remained perplexed at the attitude the girl had 

"I don't want to scare you, but if" «someone» sees you with a girl she had never seen, she wouldn't like it at all" -Tuffnut said

Hiccup froze. He clearly knew who Tuffnut was referring to, and as much as he didn't want to accept it, he was absolutely right
