Many years ago, in the village of Berk, a strong storm had been unleashed. It was already something common since the weather was almost always humid and cold. The inhabitants did not leave their homes to avoid any danger. Everything happened normally during the night, until cries of despair were heard.

Stoick was the first to hear them. Without hesitation, the chief ran off to find out what the fuss was about, not caring in the least the heavy rain.

Upon leaving home, he was surprised to meet a woman who sheltered a girl of approximately 5 years. The woman tried to protect her as much as she could. Her body felt weak and had bumps on his face and hands that barely a cape could cover.

"HELP ME PLEASE!" –Critter to see Stoick a few meters away from her - "I NEED REFUGE FOR MY DAUGHTER!"

Stoick hurried and went to them. I was surprised by that woman. Despite her condition, she was still standing, looking for a roof for her little daughter

"Don't worry, come with me" - he said while helping the woman - "I can welcome you in my home, no problem"

"I appreciate it, sir." She smiled slightly as she hugged the girl tightly.

After a few hours, Stoick and Gobber had made sure they were both out of danger. The little girl slept peacefully in a makeshift bed. Her mother checked her very often, which did not go unnoticed by both men. It was very suspicious that she didn't let her wounds be treated.

They did not explain how she had managed to reach Berk in the middle of the storm. Nothing looked around. It would be better to get even a little basic information to make sure everything was fine.

"And tell me, lady..." -Stoick clarified his voice- "What is your name? And how could you get here alone? "

The woman's green eyes collided with Stoick's eyes. They reflected an enormous coldness and especially pain. It seems that only with his gaze, I would like to explain everything bad that had happened.

She let out a loud sigh and looked at the fireplace with regret

"My name is Chrystal Pattersen ..." -she whispered- "and I'm running away with my daughter..."

"Did anyone dare to hurt you?" - asked Gobber

Chrystal combed her brown hair nervously. She didn't completely trust them, but they were her last hope to get rid of her past.

"I kept my daughter hidden from her father during all these years" - she admitted - "I... I don't even know how he found out, but it's been a few months since he's chasing us" - as she spoke, Chrystal's voice was going Breaking thanks to crying- "Thanks to me, my daughter can't have a normal life... For being so dumb and blind..."

"Hey... a lady like you shouldn't have that image of herself" -Stoick put her hand on Chrystal's shoulder- "We will help you. You can stay in Berk for as long as you want. "

Chrystal looked at Stoick for a moment. Nothing matters more than the welfare of her little daughter, but if she was still there...

"I just... I would like to spend the night here, in which the storm ends" - she smiled with difficulty - "if you allow me, sir"

Stoick nodded and smiled in response. The 3 kept chatting for a while longer until fatigue became present and both men went to their respective beds

Chrystal seeing that Stoick had retired to his room, and that Gobber had left, looked at his daughter. The little girl with brown hair slept peacefully. Her face looked very calm, as if no evil had touched her.

Seeing her like this completely broke her soul.

She looked at the fireplace for the last time before standing up and approached her girl. She stroke her hair tenderly and some tears began to sprout from her eyes

"Please forgive me, baby... but if you stay with me, you will only have a life full of misfortune. Here you can live well. Remember that I love you "–Chrystal whispered before kissing her daughter's cheek and heading to the door

She took one last look at the bed and cried silently.

"I'm sorry..." –she said before opening the door very carefully and leaving

Since that day, no one did know more about Chrystal Pattersen, and no one had the slightest idea of the pain that was triggered after leaving her daughter
