Mabel's POV
Seventeen years later
I looked at clock to watch the time and it was still 12 am. I hated nights especially if I hard nothing doing. I got up from my bed and walked lazily to the kitchen to grab some popcorn.Yes popcorn is what I needed to stay awake so I can go through my biology text book. You might be wondering what I was thinking at that time trying to read but that's the typical
Now I was in the final year nothing can stop me now from studying and my mum could not have to keep telling me to rest cause I would be writing my final exams in a year time."Whose there?"I heard my mum's voice as she comes into the kitchen."It's me mum" I rolled my eyes as I thought that my mum could be thinking someone could steal from us like seriously.
We're not poor nor do we have a mansion but we have enough to make us happy. I have a nice comfortable car I drive to school everyday and my mum has a Toyota car she drives to work and the bakery.
My mum works at one of the prestigious banks in New York and my grandma has a bakery which has a lot of customers. After school I make sure to help her out and drive back home to help mum cook dinner."Do you wanna wake your grandma up?"my mum asked me in a sleepy voice. My grandma moved in with us when I was eight and I was so happy that she did cause we shared a great bond. "Oh mum you know that she sleeps like a pig." I chuckled . My mum rolled her eyes and went back to her room.
I went back to making my popcorn then I heard my phone ringing. Who could that be at this time of the hour. I looked at the kitchen clock and it 12 : 46 am.
I went back into my room with my sweet made popcorn my grandmother taught me only to see the name Jonny's written boldly on the screen on my phone. I rolled my eyes but picked it up anyway.
"Hello" I said half annoyed. "Babe I've missed you very.....much and each .......day that passes.... by seems to be years ......without you here" He said quite slowly than usual then I knew he was drunk. Before I would say something he continued talking trash "hope you're hanging in there I know how high school is stressful especially at your final year...." before he could continue I ended the call. He always finds a way to piss me off.Ok you might be wondering why am dating someone who almost always pisses me off, well here goes the whole shitty story;
I and Jonny Cruben met in high school when I was in freshman year. He was in his final year and also the golden boy of the school and not to forget all the teachers admired him cause he was quite smart. His mother and my bestie, Emily's mother were also close friends cause they all joined a Sunday charity group. The girls weren't the vice versa either. Every adored him but I didn't not because he was ugly oh no. In fact he looked like a god but the last thing I needed was a boy at my tail and I always think relationship is a real stress.
Unluckily for me that was not the same for Jonny. When he saw me he claimed to have fallen inlove with me and I would fit perfectly with him. He started following me around giving flowers and card and even worked part time at my grandma bakery just to get my attention. My mum and Emily didn't make matters easier as they started pushing me towards him at any chance she got.
Grandma also loved him cause she taught he was a sweet boy.Well he is most of the time. She even started planning our wedding. After some few months he proposed to me in public and I said yes not because I loved him no but I kind of liked him and to also get my mum, Emily and grandma off my back. So that's that but as time went by we started seeing things differently I wanted to go stay here and go to some of the prestigious schools but he wanted me to move out of the country with him as soon as I completed high school and I was against that.Next Morning
"If you don't get your ass out of that bed am gonna spank you today." I heard my mum scream from the kitchen. I mumbled some curses and rolled over only to land on the floor.
