I had no doubts I heard the clicking sound of the garage opening. I quickly flashed the toilet and ran to put everything back on its place. I managed just in time before I heard the front door open. I closed his bedroom door and jumped into my room. I went to my bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair. I let them down my shoulders and tried my best to make them look neat, as I should have done hours ago. I put some concealer under my eyes to cover the bags that only looked darker and deeper after all I've seen. 'Alice!' Thank god he called me once I was pretty gathered, enough for him to not suspect anything. I was still thinking of the recording and the facilities. I was pretty damn sure this piece of information could safe my ass. They surely had all the documents I didn't wish to look at but were highly interesting for him. Maybe I could convince him to drive there and take the files he wanted so much. All information about my past. I had a weird feeling of certainty they were just there. 'Coming' I yelled back, took two breaths to sooth down and with light slow steps I walked downstairs. 'Hi, did you get what I asked for?' I tried to make an effort and smile a bit. I had no intention of making him angry again. I've been through enough today. 'You're early' I looked at the clock... Early?! It was nearly midnight. Bloody hell did I pass out in that bathroom? 'I mean earlier than I expected' I corrected myself quickly and rushed to change the subject as I saw him carry two shopping bags.

'Hello, sweetheart' I said smoothly. I felt bad for mistreating her earlier this morning even though I would never admit it to her. 'Of course not' I frowned just a bit but tried to cheer up 'Something better' She took the bags from my hand and asked what was inside. 'Open it' I encouraged her. She looked somewhat flustered but I suspected it was because of our little... minunderstanding before. 'What is it?' She looked rather genuily curious as she opened three boxes. 'Oh my' she looked speechless, to my relief, as she pulled out a classy black dress, matching pair of shoes and something special I got for her, I thought she might like. 'It's all for me?' she asked rethorically and I smiled a little 'I don't usually wear dresses, you know' she laughed, which made my heart jump in my chest 'And what is this?' she reached for the last, smallest box. I hoped she wouldn't think it was cheesy... I wasn't really a romantic type, but this little item made me think of her. 'Kilgrave... I... I don't know what to say' she held the little silver necklease in her small palms, staring at the gentle rose dangling at the end of it 'I love it' She looked much calmer now, phew, women were easy to cheer up. Maybe she wasn't mad at me anymore this way... Not that I cared, I could make her do anything anyway... but I didn't want to. It felt somewhat better to have her act on her own sometimes. Alice walked up to me, asking to help with the piece of jewellery and lock it on her neck. As she turned around, she pressed a kiss onto my cheek 'You've been to a barber. You look good' she pointed out to my surprise and I felt lost in the situation. I needed to gain my control back and not lean into too many feelings. They could be harmful.

'I know it's late but I haven't eaten. Would you like to go for dinner? You could show me how those fit' I pointed at the clothes with my head and she nodded.

Only now I felt how my stomach squeezed at the mention of food. I haven't had anything exept for the coffee that was no longer in my stomach either. I was flattered by his gifts, and my heart melted a little. I wasn't sure of his intentions but the video... it brought back respect I felt for him. He really stood up after his traumatic childhood, all on his own. I had to admit he did deserve recognition this way. It was also a good opportunity to ask him to get my files. After he gets them, I will be free again... 'Let me get ready' I took the dress and the shoes to my room and put everything on. I sat in front of a mirror that seemed to be staring at me with a smirk, laughing internally at my mood swings it was the witness of. 'Shut up' I shook my head. I'm talking to dead objects. I put more make up on to match the dress and suspended my eyes on the necklese he gave me. It was scary how thoughtful it was of him. He remembered I had a thing for roses but also the piece was so delicate and nearly invisible. So classy, not agressive or too posh. I did an updo with my hair so they're not in the way and just pulled a few locks to loosen it up a bit and let them frame my face.

When she came back in her new dress, all done and ready to go, my breath hitched. She was truly stunning. The heels were making her legs look fabulous, not that they weren't usually but blimey. I couldn't stop but smirk slightly at her shape, defined by simple yet tight cut of the dress. Her eyes were shining brightly all shades of blue like a diamond, no sign of black in them exept for the pupils. 'Come here' I held her wrist and cupped her cheek. I made her back press against the hallway wall as I planted a deep kiss onto her lips. I smootched her for a while, tasting each inch of her lips and neck, my breath speeding up dangerously, before I pulled away. Her chest was falling up and down, her eyes painted with the sweetest tint of lust. I could make her mine again. She had to be mine. With powers or not, I wanted her body and her soul in my life for as long as I craved it. Dinner first... and tonight she will be mine once more. I could surely redeem myself. She kissed back after all, and I did not ask her to look at me like she wants me. Yet she did.

'Let's go, miss' I opened the door for her politely and we went inside my fancy black bmw. 'Thank you, sir' she cocked her eyebrow coquettishly, which drove me even crazier for her. She took a sit in the passanger's seat and to my own satisfaction she pulled my tie, reaching for another kiss, before I could pull away and start driving 'Thank you, Kil. For everything' she whispered in my ear, sending a shiver down my spine, a pleasant one. Oh a very pleasant one.

'You'll thank me later'
