I ran my hands through my hair and sighed. This drive was taking way too long and I had too much energy from just sitting in the car. I threw my head back dramatically.

"Are we there yet!!!" I yelled in the car. The rest of the girls groaned and laughed. Courtney turned around in the passenger seat and slid her glasses down her nose and gave me a look.

"Damn drummers have too much energy." She laughed and turned back to the front of the car. Penny unplugged her phone from the USB cord and reach back from the driver seat and handed it to me.

"Pick some music, maybe that'll help you calm down." I grinned and plugged my phone in. I put on some Misfits. Kira and I started dancing around as much as we could in the back seat. She finally stopped and just smiled and stared at me. She finally put her hands on my shoulders and started to shake me.

"Can you believe were finally getting signed to a label!?! I mean sure it's a new small time label, but shit its about damn time. We all fucking deserve this!!" The rest of the girls started screaming out in pure joy.

We did indeed deserve this. We've been working on our band for the last two years. Since punk isn't big around Florida  we never really got the recognition we deserved. We finally started sending a few songs out to about a million different recording companies and labels. We were determined to make it somewhere. We finally got a letter back from this small label called Speaker Cat Records. We hadn't heard anything else so we accepted. When we accepted we also decided it was time to pick up our lives and move to LA. Sure its pretty typical but none of us really had much going for us.

Kira and I both worked at the same hair solon. We loved cutting and styling hair but our boss didn't exactly love our looks. He always made shitty comments. I have a jaw length mohawk. My natural hair color is black but the tips are dyed pink. I have tattoos all over and my septum and nose pierced. He always wanted me to take the piercings out. I always laughed at him. I told him he was free to fire me, but I wasn't losing my piercings. Since I was one of the highly requested stylists he knew he couldn't lose me.

Kira almost mirrored me. She had beautiful brown hair with caramel highlights and cut in the same style as mine. She didn't have the piercings but she had the tattoos to match me. The boss didn't exactly enjoy her style but she did a mean fade and was the only stylist that could cut ethic hair. So again he was stuck with her. She is our bassist and just as her style mirrored mine so did her energy. We were both hyper active both on stage and in life.

Courtney, or as she likes me be called Cherry, was a bank receptionist by day and stripper by night. She is our lead signer and she definitly has the attitude and voice to be a lead signer. She is the tallest out of all of us and has her hair dyed fire engine red. She was the only one that had most of her tattoos hidden and you only saw her piercings if you went to her night job.

Penny is our guitarist. Her skill is impeccable. She worked at the spa next door to Kira and my solon. She started her transition in the last two years. She has long straight beautiful brown hair. Kira and I always give her shit because she has virgin hair and we love working with her hair but she never lets us cut it or dye it.

Penny pulled into a gas station and turned the music down.

"Its time for bathroom breaks and snack attack. And then Axel can drive with all her fucking energy." She said and giggled. I hopped out and went to get a red bull and a water from the gas station. When I got to the station attendant I asked how far away LA was. He laughed.

"Eh, your about a good six hours away." He glanced at his watch. "You might wanna take a break here in the next three hours so you don't hit rush hour traffic." I groaned.

That was one of the things I was not looking forward to living in a bigger city.

We all got our business taken care of and got back on the road. I cranked the music and put my foot to the floor. I would be damned if we got stuck in the rush hour traffic in LA.

"Hey now we don't need a ticket! And turn down the music." Penny shouted to me. I sighed and turned the music down.

"What's up Penny Lane?" I said and looked at her through the rear view mirror.

"We go to the apartment first and then our meeting with the label is Friday morning. We have been making good time so don't worry about rushing. We won't get totally moved in that fast. I mean none of us had a whole lotta stuff but its probably going to take a week or two. We ain't gonna get moved in this weekend. "

Cherry laughed and ruffled my hair from the passenger seat.

"With this bitch we'll get moved in within an hour." I mocked her laugh and glared at her quickly.

"Hey someone update the instagram. We need more followers leading up to our brand new album that's gonna be coming out soon." I said to Penny.

She was the most tech savy out of all of us so she handled our website and social media accounts.

I looked at the speedometer and glanced at Penny in the rear view mirror. She was on her phone taking pictures with Kira. I stepped on the gas slowly so she wouldn't notice.
