Chapter 12

I sit nervously as I feel three pairs of eyes stare at me. I squeeze my eye shut, uncomfortable with the silence filling the room. Gently, I bite my tongue inside my mouth hoping one would say something and get this over with.

"So," America starts, rubbing his hands together awkwardly, "How to start..."

"I think we should start with," France places a hand on my shoulder, "Are you ok, Ger?"

I look up at the three allies before looking down once more. I could feel tears burn my eyes and I lowly shake my head, bringing my hands to my face. A hand rubs my back as I sob. The sobs were painful, and I coughed a couple times.

An arm wraps around my shoulders and I tense up harshly causing it to slowly slide of.

"Germany?" I look up into the starry eyes of America, "Do you want to talk about it?"

I shake my head once again and Britain sighs, placing down his cup of tea and shuffling closer to France on the couch. He places his hands on my cheeks and lifts my head up, looking into my eye. I shift uncomfortably in my seat and stare back, confused on what he was doing.

"Despite having the same eyes as him... you have very pretty eyes Germany." Britain complimented and smiled warmly. My eyes widen and I slip out of his grip looking to the side. "Did I say something wrong?"

"I... These..." I stutter in loss of words. "They... aren't my... aren't my real... eyes..."

I go to stand up out of embarrassment and shame, but I softly get pushed back down. "What do you mean?" America asked, sitting at the edge of the couch so he was closer to me.

"I..." I rub my eye slightly and feel the irritation increase.

I had to take the contacts out...

But I didn't want to...

I stand slowly and turn to face the wall not to far behind the chair I sat on. I slowly bring my hand to my eye and carefully start to take the contact out.

"Is he trying to remove his other eye-" I hear America whisper not so quietly and giggle slightly; not loud enough for anyone to hear though.

"Why would he do that?" I hear France whisper as I successfully get a grip on the contact with a small frown.

"Can we discuss this later?" Britain clears his throat as I stare at the contact in my hand. The irritation in my eye had slightly subsided but was still there. I blink a couple of times before squeezing my eye shut and turning back around; sitting back on the couch with my head low and placing the contact on the coffee table.

"Germany? What was that about?" A hand is placed on my shoulder as I slightly tense, images flash through my mind.

My eye flicks open and I slowly lift my head looking into the eyes of the allies. I watch France pick up the contact and observe it slightly.

America lets out a deep breath and leans back on the couch, "That is some voodoo stuff right there."

Britain slightly hits him before looking back at me. "I think its nice. Sort of reminds me of Weimar's..."

"And soviets..." France slightly whispers under his breath looking at me intensely.

I shrink back at this, shutting my eye once again and shrinking into the small stool. America sighs once more and I hear movement infront of me. As I open my eyes, I see France and America exiting the room and Britain overdosing on his usual tea.

America seems to notice my staring as he turns around and stares at me, "Hey Germs?"

"Hm?" I reply nervously.

"Is it alright if France and I talk by ourselves?" He questioned and let France walk by him to the long hallway on the other side of the door

"Sure...?" I replied but it sounded like more of a question than a statement. They both exit the room, the door shutting behind them.

But the one advantage of this house were the very thin walls...

"I'm not sure about this..." I hear France say and shuffle slightly in my chair, looking down at the floor.

"Why not?" America replied confused. I stare slightly at Britain who flips another page of the newspaper, not paying attention to his two allies in the neighbouring room.

"What if Soviet-"

"Soviet is not going near him. I will assure that."

"Do you think...?"

"We can ask. I'm sure he'll hesitate but I'm sure after a bit of convincing he'll give in."

"Alright."

I look over to Britain as he sipped his tea once more. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked calmly looking at me.

I shake my head and then look back at the door as one thought circles my head.

What are they going to do with me?

"Mr China?"

China looked down at the slightly smaller teenager in front of him. His eyes slightly shining in the light, hiding the red puffiness.

"Yes Russia?"

"Is Germany really dead?"

China sighed and looked slightly to the side, coming into eye contact with soviet who sat hunched in the neighbouring room. All the large union did was shake his head before going back to his paperwork.

Sighing once again Chinas eyes averted back to Russia, "I... I don't know kid... I'm sorry."

Russia looks down in disappointment and sadness. For a kid who usually acted all high and mighty, he seemed so... broken.

"I'll... I'll try to find out for you, ok?"

Russia looked up at the Chinese with a glimmer of hope glossing his eyes.

"Спасибо Китай! (Thank you, China!)"

China watches as Russia runs past his other siblings and out of the room. Sighing once again, the Chinese travels over to the doorframe separating him and his comrade. The sliding door closed behind the smaller of the red countries and his fist slightly punches the oak.

"You didn't tell him!?" China exhale as he spins around.

Soviet stretched his back, causing a few clicks to emit, "Это к лучшему- (It's for the best-)" Soviet stands to his full height and slightly towers over China, "You will talk to Britain and come back to... 'confirm' Germanys death to him."

"He is your son. You shouldn't put him through the same suffering y-"

"That's enough China."

But from the other side of the oak door, listened a small innocent country, ready to tell her siblings what she had heard.
