set

i sat in a van with rian, shay, and sophie. as time went on, i started getting more and more nervous. rian put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me towards him, making me lean on him. sophie put one of her legs on mine to stop them from bouncing up and down.

"alysen calm down it's fine! you'll be fine seriously! they already gave you the part, they aren't gonna taking it away from you on the first day." shay said.

"you're right! i need to stop over thinking!" i sighed.

"we all overthink sometimes." rian said. a couple minutes later, we pulled up to set. or where we'll be filming first at least. we got out of the van and i stood by rian's side.

"hi!" the one of the producers said.

"hi! i'm alysen!" i smiled, pretending i'm not nervous.

"it's lovely to meet you alysen! are you a fan of the babysitter's club?"

"actually yes i am! i read one book when i was younger at my elementary school's library and i loved it! i kind of forgot about the books when i left elementary because my middle school doesn't have those books. last year though when the show came out on netflix i watched it on repeat and made many of my friends watch it." i ranted with a smile on my face and admiration in my eyes.

"i'm glad you liked it. are you excited to be part of the show?"

"yes! when i my parents said i could i practically fainted!" i laughed.

"i'm glad you get along with the cast so well already." the producer laughed. i smiled and looked at rian and then shay.

"me too. since i don't get to spend hours at my studio anymore with the same people, multiple times a week i feel as if the only way i can be distracted from missing all of that is to have good friends with me."

the producer looked at me with a sad look.

"we know it's hard giving that up but trust me, it's all worth it." i smiled and looked around at everyone else who also wore smiles.

we discussed a few more things before having free roam of the set.

"it's nice to know we'll be filming soon." dylan said.

"yea." momona said. i looked over at xochitl who was talking with the producer from earlier. a minutes later she walked over to us.

"i realized that none of us know who your character is, alysen."

"oh yeah!" i responded.

"the producer wants to talk to you about that before we find out."

"okay i'll go over there now."

i walked towards the producer.

"ah yes alysen! your character's name is paris ramsey! she's a dancer and she's friends with jessi ramsey and mallory pike. she's new and meets mallory through jessi since you're playing her cousin. you guys look nothing alike but that's because you look more like your mom than your dad, who is jessi's uncle." the producer explained quickly, talking with her hands.

"okay, makes sense." i replied with a smile. she handed me a bunch of papers.

"hand these out to everyone over there please?"

"sure." i said, walking away and towards the rest of the cast. i looked at the names on each one and handed them to the correct people, keeping mine under my arm.

"so who's your character?" malia asked.

"my character is paris ramsey, she's jessi ramsey's older cousin but looks more like her mom than her dad, who is jessi's uncle. basically she's friends with mallory and jessi. she meets mallory through jessi since they're cousins. everything just builds up throughout the episodes but that's her backstory i guess." i explained.
