[WICHITA, KANSAS]
"You dirty, piece of shit psychopath!" Dennis' wife screams at the top of her lungs. "I'm finished with you tearing this family apart!"
"Please, honey, please!" he shouts back, sobbing uncontrollably. "You don't understand-"
"What don't I understand? That you're crazy!" she growls, reaching over for the book she had given to him.
"I need help!" he cries out, quickly dodging as he sees the book being hurled in his direction. "Get me help!"
"Yeah," she pants. "You need help alright! All that rope, the mask, the women's clothing! How long have you hidden those things in my home?"
"Our home," he corrects. "And don't forget, I'm the one who bought it! Technically if it's not ours it's mine!"
She looks down quickly, accepting the fact that he's right. She takes a deep breath. "D, honey, how can I help you?"
"Just please, let us call places. Somewhere has got to have the resources to help me be normal again!" his voice cracks as he is realizing, he doesn't want help for his fantasies. He wants to keep is wife as well as his secrets. If the world could only be so kind as to give him the only two things he wants in life, and not the ultimatum to choose.
[QUANTICO, VIRGINIA]
Holden and Bill's plane is just now landing, as they were sent home due to the fact that the case was reaching a dead end. Their boss, Ted Gunn, deemed the case was again out of their jurisdiction. It had been temporarily deemed as a freak incident, unless some new evidence is found, or another victim. The shoe only had evidence on the inside, tied to Craig, and it's assumed that the outdoor conditions where the shoe was found, had made any evidence on the outside of the shoe weathered off.
As Bill pulls up to the driveway of his abandoned-looking house, he shakily reaches in his pockets for his key. He immediately runs to the phone, checking the voicemails. There are none. He slams the phone in frustration, as he slowly slides down the wall with tears in his eyes.
Holden enters his apartment and approaches the fridge. He grabs a bottle of water and takes it with him to his phone. He dials a number. "Dr. Carr, Behavioral Science."
"Wendy-"
"Holden? How are you?"
"I'm doing good. We're back home, and will probably be at work tomorrow. I know I have severe jet-lag." he laughs. "How have things been at the office?"
"They have been alright, I've been doing great. Joe has been acting a little weird though."
"Howso?"
"Well," Wendy begins. "He seems a little easily frustrated. But I mean, he could just be frustrated with Gunn. He got this job under the impression he'd be working for Shepard."
"Yeah I can see that." Holden sighs. "Have you two interviewed anybody while we have been away?"
"No," she pauses. "I have been tied to the county for court."
"Court? Are you okay, are you in trouble?"
"No of course not." she laughs. "A friend of mine opened up about a situation with the father of her child. We actually were followed by him while going to grab her things from her apartment to move her in with me, and we got footage of it. That, on top of proving his violent behavior, she is probably going to be awarded full custody very soon."
"I'm glad you have a roommate now," Holden smiles. "You're making friends, that's great to hear. And I'm glad you're only a witness to all of this, I was afraid of what else could have sent you to court."
