*Authors note* sorry it's been months since the last update. I've been finding it hard to focus on things so writing this proved a challenge, but I really want to continue with this fic, as it is something I enjoy writing. I again apologize because I know how annoying it is when a fanfic writer just stops updating but yeah. *end of note*

Rapunzel's POV
The next day came and when I woke I quickly left the house, not wanting to run into my dad.
When I got to school I waited by my locker for Cass. She arrived a few minutes after I arrived. We spent the 20 minutes before first period talking. It felt as if we were in our own universe, as if the only ones in it were us. Our conversation flowed without fault. It felt as if we were meant to talk forever. The bell cut this time short though.
The day went by painfully slow. I couldn't be bothered to pay attention in my classes, I had too much on my mind. Mainly my father. I thought that living with him would be better than Gothel but it isn't. It's arguably worse. I now know how wonderful the world is. I now know all I'm being kept from. I guess now there's mother but she doesn't do anything. She just goes along with father. I hate it.
In math I had a pop quiz that I failed. I couldn't focus so I just doodled on it. I guess my teacher put the grade into the grade book right away, because I got called down to the principal's office. I wanted so badly to ignore it, but I didn't.
When I walked into my father's office he started by saying, "You're math teacher called me. She said you failed you're math test."
    I just nodded.
"She said you didn't even write any answers, you just doodled," he said aggressively.
    "I couldn't focus," I responded.
"That's not an excuse. This test counts for a huge part of your grade," he grumbled.
"It was just a pop quiz," I rebutted.
"A pop quiz? The teacher told me that this has been a test she was prepping her classes for weeks. You can't be this irresponsible," he screamed.
I flinched, then said, "I'm sorry. I just couldn't make myself focus."
"Is this because of this Cass girl," he asked in a slightly calmer tone.
"What? No, this is because you won't let me live my life," I yelled.
"I do what I do to protect you, Rapunzel," he said in the same calm tone.
"You aren't protecting me, you're controlling my life," I screamed.
    "Rapunzel, calm down," he requested.
    I disregarded his request.
"Look, take a minute to calm down and then head back to class. I'll take care of things," he stated.
"What do you mean take care of things," I questioned in a slightly quieter tone.
"Nothing, just go back to class," he firmly stated.
I walked out and headed back to class.
