Standing in front of the closet door with Noah at my side, I waved goodbye to Carter and Rayne as they stepped into the bright white light from the inside that would take them back towards the dimensions once the door shut. It had been twenty four hours since we discovered that I could communicate with the dead and I was grateful that I hadn't heard any voices during the entire night. Noah was preparing to end the lockdown so we could meet the citizens once again.
"See you later or not." Rayne said with a giggle. Carter rolled her eyes at her friend before closing the door shut. We watched as the bright light slowly dimmed from the cracks of the door before the light completely disappeared and the darkness returned.
"Only those two could teleport in a closet." Noah mumbled as he walked away from the door. I stared at the man as he walked towards the exit of the large infirmary. He was back in his normal attire rocking a black suit. The stress that was in his eyes earlier had now been replaced and the uninterested look that he usually wore had returned. I followed closely behind Noah as we made our way to his office. Stepping in the room, I closed the door behind my softly.
Noah cleared his throat as he sat behind the desk and began to shuffle the papers around seeming to search for something in particular. I stared at the broad handsome man as I sat on the couch. Noah didn't look my way. He continued to read whatever was written on the paper which caused me to sigh.
Suddenly, Noah stopped reading and looked towards me. "What are you sighing for?"
"I've been thinking..." I trailed off.
Noah seemed to roll his eyes a bit before placing the papers back on the table, "About?"
"We don't know much of anything about one another. Our marriage is what I consider arranged."
He scoffed. "It was arranged. You were destined to be my wife because you are my mate."
"It's an arranged marriage to me. I knew nothing of mates. I was thrown into your world and forced to adjust to it quickly."
"You were not forced to do anything."
Standing up, I scoffed. "I was forced to live here and forced to become your wife because of a mate bond."
"What is your point in all of this, Ororo?" Noah asked as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"We're married but I know nothing about you and you know nothing about me!"
"I know everything about you!"
"What's my favorite color?" I asked.
"Red."
"It's blue."
"Since when?"
"What's my favorite food?"
"Burgers. You ate them all the time."
"Steak." I corrected.
"Your point?"
"Favorite place to eat out at?"
"You don't eat out." He replied."It's McDonald's!" I exclaimed. "You know nothing about me."
Noah sighed before picking the papers back up. "We have forever to learn about one another.
Using my superhuman speed, I ran towards him before snatching the papers out of his hands. "Would you just listen to me? I died and you're acting like nothing happened. You're just working!"
"Because you're picking a fight!"
"I'm picking a fight because I want to get to know my husband?"
