Germany sighed as he stood by America. He never liked the ball gowns because it was so bothersome. Unfortunately for him, he was forced to wear one the whole night. Why so?
Germany had gained back half of his father's land from America and as celebration America held a ball. Though his home was not big enough to fit the whole town, there was a festival going on, specifically for the commoners.
"Am... F-Father, may I be excused?" Germany hesitated. He cringed internally for calling America his father. America chuckled at Germany knowing how disgusted he must felt and nodded. "Sure, don't take too long, sweetheart," he smirked. Germany felt as if he could roll his eyes up so hard he might go completely blind but there were people watching.
Germany forced a smile and left the ball room and into his room. He landed on his bed and screamed into his pillow. "This is terribleeeeeeeee!!" Germany muffled through his pillow. He stood back up and looked at a long mirror on the wall. He eyed his hair, his make up and his dress. He didn't look that bad for a female, but it was so uncomfortable.
He took his heels off and threw them blindly, sighing at the newfound freedom of his ankles. He began undressing himself, desperately removing his corset. He honestly didn't need one looking at his figure but America 'insisted'. What a pain.
He rummaged through his wardrobe and wore a more simple looking dress. It wasn't fancy at all and anyone could mistaken it as common clothing. Because it was. Germany undid his hair and let it fall freely. He wanted his hair cut at least by a bit. I mean, he knew that most fancy looking women had their hair long but it shouldn't be as long as Germany's. It was about to reach his thighs. Or maybe Germany was just too short.
He put some flat shoes on and went to the bathroom to get his make up off. It took a while but he eventually got to it. Without anyone's notice, he pretended to be one of the servants and left the place. He ran towards the festival going on in town.
The festival was more lively than the ball. It was noisier, brighter and more crowded. It certainly got Germany excited. He looked at the many food the stalls were offering and the games that were held. There also stuff like souvenir, clothes, toys, etc. It all seemed to brightened him but of course he couldn't afford any of it. When he first took step on the town, he had realized he did not bring any money with him. He didn't want to go back so he decided to just enjoy the view.
Germany felt his hair getting lifted gently and he quickly turned around. A man stood there who seemed to have noticed Germany's distress. Though, he did not seem very apologetic. "You have lovely hair. Quiet long for a small figure," the man commented. Germany stared at the man warily before replying, "Thank you?" "No need. You seem like a lovely lady. Would you like a drink? I can afford a few bottles of wine," the man offered. Germany smiled nervously and shook his head, "Sorry, I'm not into wine."
He tried to walk away quickly but his hair was tugged back harshly. Germany winced and turned around sharply to see the same man gripping onto the ends of his hair. "We can go for something different. Whiskey, perhaps?" The man suggested and placed his arm around Germany's shoulder without loosening his grip on his hair.
"I'm not interested," Germany tried to protest, but was ignored. The man only pushed Germany forward, forcing him to walk alongside him. "You will be," the man smirked. Just as he was about to give Germany a peck on the cheek, his hair was pulled back harshly. It took him by surprise that he let go of Germany entirely.
"She made her point clear."
Germany turned around and saw Ukraine holding onto the man's hair. He glared at the man and threw him to the ground. Apparently, unlike the harrasment that Germany had endured, Ukraine's action seem to have caught the surrounding area's attention.
The people stared at both the man and Ukraine, expecting a fight to happen. But Ukraine ignored the man, the moment he threw the man away and focused his attention to Germany. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you anywhere?" Ukraine asked in concern. Germany smiled and nodded, "Yes, I'm alright. Thank you, Ukraine."
The man from earlier stood up and shouted complaints and insults at Ukraine but it didn't seem to reach him at all. Ukraine and Germany ended up leaving the crowd and the man to a more secluded area. "What are you doing here?" Germany asked Ukraine. "Our family got invited to the ball. I just decided to come here instead. That being said, what are you doing here instead of the ball?" Ukraine questioned.
"Well, like you I preferred being here than there," Germany chuckled. "Oh, well, should I mention that Russia's waiting for you there?" Ukraine stated. Germany lit up at the mention of his fiance. "He was looking for you but your father said you were in the bathroom or something. He's been waiting for you to return since," Ukraine informed.
"Then let's go back!" Germany exclaimed. Ukraine held Germany's hand before he could take another step. He looked at Ukraine in confusion but quickly turned to concern when he saw how distress he looked. "Ukraine, are you alright?" Germany asked as he held Ukraine's hand back.
"Lyamora, I know you're my brother's fiancee but I... I can't help falling for you... Lyamora, I love you," Ukraine confessed, his face flushed. It took Germany off guard and made him speechless. He quickly recovered from his shock and smiled sadly with a soft gaze. "Ukraine, I'm sorry I can't say I feel the same for you. I-" He couldn't finish when he saw Ukraine smile sadly.
"I know. I know that. I know I couldn't have you from the start. I just... couldn't keep it to myself anymore. I just want to know this won't come between us being friends," Ukraine replied. Germany smiled and gave Ukraine a hug. He hesitantly returned the hug and quickly moved away from the hug when Germany released. "You're a kind man, Ukraine. Russia's lucky to have a brother like you," Germany complimented. "Oh no, I'm very envious of him right now. I just don't want to hurt you," Ukraine stated. Germany laughed, "Then I hope this won't come between you being brothers. Come on, let's go!"
Like that the two ran back to the mansion, side by side.
