3rd Person P.O.V
Rayne watched the crowd curiously as everyone took a bow at the Royal family she noticed how certain people didn’t move. And before she could be warned, she heard the voice she had heard two nights ago. “ATTACK! Get the Princess I want her now!”
Chaos erupted throughout the crowd, Andre, Jace, and her were at the King and his children’s sides in a blind of an eye. Standing guard.
“Get the Princes and Princess to safety, hide them!” Rayne yelled.
Guards came from nowhere and started guiding the Princes out of the room. Jeremy who held onto the Princess and Brandon’s hand got separated from the group as the guests ran in different directions. Jace quickly ran to his safety and pulled his aside. “Go that way as fast as you can. I’ll fight them off. Go now!” he yelled at the scared boy. Who nodded his head and ran off in the opposite direction as the rest of the guests.
He stopped when he heard his father’s voice yelling. He turned to Brandon and handed him the Princess. “Keep her safe Brandon. Hide her. Run from everyone. Don’t let anything bad happen to her. I’m going to help father.” Jeremy said.
Brandon nodded “Keep safe.” he said and ran off. As he ran, he ran into a woman with a baby and a child his age. She ushered for him to follow her as fast as he could, He happily obeyed.
Jace was fighting off the guards when he noticed Jeremy running in the opposite direction he had told him to. Without the Princess and Young Prince. He wanted to ask what happened but he didn’t have a chance, a sword swung down on him nearly hitting his head. He quickly attacked the guard back, and in a second flat, he lay on the ground not moving. He raced after Jeremy.
“What are you doing?!” he snapped
“I want to help daddy!” Jeremy yelled as Jace held him behind him as another guard came up. Luckily it was one of King Damien’s.
“We can’t seem to find the young Prince Brandon and the Princess.” he told Jace as he handed Jeremy off to one of the guards who gathered up the other boys.
“What do you mean you can’t find them?! They’re children!” he yelled in frustration. He was supposed to protect them.
“I’m sorry sir but we don’t know where they disappeared to.” the guard replied.
And just like that everything came crashing down. A smell filled the Palace, a smell of burning flesh, and a scream and cry from little children. Everyone turned toward the smoke that filled the room. Standing above the burning corpse was Zest… a smirk plastered on his face.
“NOOOO!” Jeremy’s voice screamed into the crowd. He stopped in front of Jace, and glared. “You were supposed to protect them! You promised you would protect them!” He yelled tears rolling down his face.
“I… I didn’t know.” Jace replied stunned. It was his job.
“Tsk, tsk. Little boy. You were the one who ran from them. Sending them on their own. But, we shall blame this boy.” Zest replied waving to Jace. “It’s a shame you know. I didn’t want her to die, but he wouldn’t let her go. Besides, at least now I don’t have to worry about waiting for her to grow up. Now that she’s gone, the prophecy can’t happen. I’d apologize but I’d rather not.” he smirked.
Jace charged at him, but one of his men grabbed him by the neck. “Oh my dear boy, I wouldn’t do that if I was you.” he replied nodding to his men, who threw Jace against the wall.
“Get out! Get out of my Palace. All of you. Let us mourn for our losses. You got what you wanted, at a price none of us were willing to pay. Leave now, and never return.” King Damien yelled bursting through the crowd, and dropping next to his son and daughter.
