"Daddy leave again?"

little Seungmin asked with a big pout decorating his face as Hyunjin closed his coat again.

"Yes but don't worry bub,
daddy will be back soon.
I promise."

Despite the older's words Seungmin still clung onto his daddy's leg not wanting to let go, his pout just growing more.

"Minnie please.
I have to go"

Hyunjin pleaded and shook his leg a bit in hope that the little would loosen his grip.

But the tiny boy just nuzzled his face into the fabric of the other's pants, tightening his grip even more like a koala baby.

"Don't leave please.
Don't leave Minnie alone"

he cried out shocking Hyunjin.

The older immediately crouched down and pulled his little one in his arms, his hand going up to pet the younger's head in a comforting manner.

When Hyunjin reached out to lift his baby's chin Seungmin looked up with sad eyes and fat tears rolling down his soft cheeks.

The older leaned in to kiss the tears away tear by tear and with each gentle peck the younger's sniffles quieted down a bit.

Eventually Hyunjin leaned his forehead against the other's while cupping his face gently caressing Seungmin's cheeks and whispered softly.

"Why do you want Daddy to stay here so bad today sweetie?
Is everything alright?
I thought today it would be okay?"

At his caregiver's words the tiny boy's eyes started to get watery again.

The taller pouted sadly, sat down on the ground and pulled his little one fully in his embrace on his lap.

While he had his arms tightly wrapped around Seungmin and rocked the sad tiny bean softly,
the little just curled up into a ball and buried his face in the older's chest.

"Baby?"

The small ball eventually mumbled something into the other's fabric of the hoodie which was barely audible.

"Minnie doesn't want to be lonely."

"Oh sweetie, you aren't lonely and you'll never be.
Daddy will always be here for his favorite little puppy"

Hyunjin cooed and placed a soft kiss on top of Seungmin's head.

The little just hummed to the answer and pressed himself even closer to his daddy if that was even possible.

"I won't go anywhere baby,
I promise."

And that's how they spent another thirty minutes on the floor in front of their door with Seungmin crying softly in Hyunjin's embrace while the other just rocked him with a heavy heart.

There was nothing more hurtful than seeing his baby so sad and that he couldn't do anything to take the fear from him.

Seungmin had always been scared to be left alone, especially in his head space he was really clingy.

And once in a while when he had bad days he just wouldn't calm down at all.

He had been left so often in his life, his fragile heart was scarred and broken to the point where he would be constantly afraid of being left again.

There was nothing Hyunjin could do besides holding his love and showing him that he would be there for him every time Seungmin would break down.

But in the end he knew these gestures wouldn't reach the younger's heart enough to heal the wounds that had been left there over all these years.

Seungmin fully trusted Hyunjin with everything he was, with everything he had.

Still the fear had grown to be part of him, a part that Hyunjin had accepted although it was hard for him to cope with it at first.

Even if it would stay like this forever, if the fear never leaves, he would stay as well.

Because that's what you do when you really love someone with your whole heart.
