THE TWO GIRLS awkwardly stared at eachother as they stood at the door, "i um ordered some food..." michaela shrugged before gesturing for rue to come inside.
from across the room maddy watched how michaela would fidget with her fingers nervously while she would talk to rue, maddy knew michaela was fragile and unsure of how she felt, but when she watched how she interacted with rue, she knew she was i love.
"what food did you order?" rue asked as she started to take her shoes off, "i ordered chinese, i remember before i left for school i remember you liked it...but if you don't want that i can order different." michaela started to ramble not wanting to ruin her night with rue.
"no i think it's perfect..." rue trailed off giving her a smile, and as maddy watched their interaction more it became more clear how michaela felt.
"since when did michaela hang out with a junky" cassie snarled as she eyed the pair making their way upstairs, which caused kat to let out a small laugh.
"they was friends before she went away to school for a year." maddy replied as she grabbed a few chips, trying to avoid the conversation.
cassie noticed that maddy wasn't interested in the conversation so she just shutup and listened to the subject change to maddy and nate.
MEANWHILE michaela and rue laid next to eachother on her bed talking about anything and everything.
michaela told her about her year away, and rue told her about what she did, but she didn't dare bring up jules, she was finally getting over the blonde girl and looking foward to new things with the brunette.
michaela sat up slightly, resting a side of her body with her elbow, she took a minute to study rue. study everything about her, the way she formed wrinkles at her eyes every time she smiled, or the way her lips would move when she spoke.
and that's when it hit michaela all of a sudden.
she was in love with rue.
she tried to shake off the feeling, she didn't know what she was anymore, the way arvin touched her made her feel things, but when she spent time with rue she felt feelings.
it was all so new and caused michaela to overthink and not even realise rue had turned to look at her also, the two gazed upon eachother intently.
michaela's body moved before her mind could comprehend the actions, she started to lean towards rue and felt rue place her hand upon michaela's upper arm, their faces inches awa-
"MICHAELA YOUR TAKEOUTS HERE" maddy yelled from downstairs causing the two girls to immediately move away and emit an awkward silence.
"i'll go erm grab the food...do you uh what to um put netflix on?" michaela rambled not wanting to make it any less awkward, rue nodded and michaela let out a sigh as she exited her room.
MADDY GAVE michaela a look as she rushed down the stairs with her head low, her cheeks were reader than before which only caused maddy's thoughts to wonder.
"had fun?" she grinned quietly to her older sister, "uh what uh yeah fine." michaela mumbled paying the chinese food guy and grabbing the bags of food.
"have fun, but not too much fun." maddy laughed walking away back to her friends, confusion was written across michaela's face, but she decided on ignoring her sister and going back to rue.
as she slowly opened the door she saw rue sat on her bed flicking through netflix trying to find the right show, she eventually gave up and turned on friends not knowing what else to choose.
"i have the food" michaela smiled at rue as she placed it on the bed and then crawled in next to her.
the two girls spend the evening laughing and making awful jokes while watching friends with stuffed stomachs, they ended up having tangled legs under the covers with their faces only inches apart as they spoke to one another.
rue felt euphoric, and so did michaela.
"i'm sorry about earlier." rue finally brought up the subject of their almost kiss, "i know you're dating arvin i just i-" but before rue could finish michaela immediately interrupted her.
"i'm not dating arvin." she told her as she scooted a fraction closer to the girl, rue felt something heavy lifted off her shoulders, she was never sure they were dating, but she knew they was something.
"and you don't need to apologise." michaela said in barely a whisper, rue searched her eyes trying to understand what she meant.
but before rue could answer she felt a pair of soft lips on hers, it took only a couple seconds for her to realise and return the gesture as their lips moved in sync as one.
