4 days till Olympic tryouts

Sophie sat at a table drinking her coffee peacefully. She scrolled through Instagram, after posting a picture of Silveny, Clyde and her (I feel bad for Clyde. I just totally forgot the poor boy's name and I'm like 'is it Dave? North? Clyde? No not Clyde. WAIT IT IS CLYDE. I need to sleep more XD)

"Hey Beautiful" a voice she could never forget said. Sophie tensed.

"Don't ever call me that." Standing up trying to leave but he grabbed her by her waist before she could.

"Why not?" He chuckled a dark terrifying laugh.

"Because I don't like it" She felt his breath on her neck. She tried to break free but he held her close. She trembled in his embrace. He kissed her harshly on her lips. Sophie threw her boiling coffee at him and bolted for her truck. She locked the doors and started driving away.

Day 1 of Olympic tryouts- Dressage

January 5th

--

Clyde was not the prettiest horse there but in the dressage ring, he acted like one. Sophie felt like he always felt self-conscious with other horses because of his breed. "You're better than them" she whispered to him, smiling.
"And next up is Clyde Of The Great North with rider 175 Sophie Foster!" Sophie led Clyde in with a beautiful trot. She halted in the middle of the ring, bowing before performing. She and Clyde had earned a score of a perfect 10! "I knew you could do it bud!" She smiled and hugged his neck after she slid off. She had already performed with Silveny so she could bond with both of her horses.

Day 2 of Olympic Tryouts- Cross Country
January 6th
——
Sophie stood at the gate waiting to be given the all-clear to begin her course.
"Go ahead and good luck," the starting gate person said. She nodded her head and gathered her reins.
(I know what's going to happen but I'm still scared)
She urged Silveny into a canter and begun. The course was tricky and confusing but she knew where she was going. She held Silveny in to keep her from galloping up to a fence. Silveny fought her loads after the jump, demanding her to let her gallop. But Sophie knew better than that. Silveny pulled at Sophie's little body trying to take over. After they cleared the 4th fence Sophie gave Silveny her head and let her gallop down the track, knowing that the next jump was far so they could save time more. Sophie organized Silveny once the next fence came into view and prepared for taking off. Silveny landed perfectly in the water. She cantered perfectly through the cold water and took off for the fence leading out of it. Sophie gave her a final gallop before steadying her for the final fence. She leapt over it with such confidence. She had a time of 2:56 which was the best time so far. She had done well with Clyde with a time of 5:01.

Day 3 Of Olympic tryouts- Show Jumping

January 7th

--

Sophie warmed up Clyde and Silveny over small jumps before dismounting and raising them in the warm-up ring. "Sophie Foster at the gate with her first horse, Lilac Winds on deck, Natalie Freeman in 1" Sophie mounted Silveny and headed to the gate.

"And next up is Sophie Foster with Silent Silver" Sophie gathered her reins and walked Silveny into the arena once the gate went up.

Buzz

Sophie urged Silveny into a speedy but steady canter as she began her course.

Red and white bounce to water jump. Her mind repeated as she jumped through her course. She headed over to a wide oxer, she checked Silveny's pace and kept her steady and listening to her. She leapt over and Sophie felt the air come out of her. She was flying like an alicorn. She landed nicely and continued to the final fence. She cut her corner swiftly of the grass ring, heading to the triple combo. Silveny tucked her feet up swiftly, landed, repeat until she finished the combo. Sophie patted Silveny's neck before bringing her back to a walk, praising her. She walked Silveny in the warm-up ring, trying to cool her down before she needed to hop back on Clyde.

-5 Minutes Later-

Sophie entered the ring on Clyde and showed him the oxer and the water fence before picking up a powerful canter.

"You got this bud" She whispered to him quietly, knowing he would need the support. She patted him and headed to the first fence. Before she knew it she finished the course with the fastest time yet. She patted his neck, feeling over the moon. She cooled Clyde down and groomed him then reported back waiting for the results.

"Riders please enter the arena for results"

Sophie entered the arena along with the other riders.
"The top 5 riders of all three days is on the team. Got it?"
"First on the team is... Mily Milers!" He continued after everyone applauded,
"In second... Sophie Foster with both of her horses!" Tears of joy streamed down her face. She was one step closer to her dream.
