Olympics Day 2- Cross Country

"Mother of God Silveny! How did you get so dirty!" Sophie internally panicked as she looked at Silveny's filthy coat. She haltered Silveny and hosed her down in a time of 10 minutes. She needed to have both horses tacked up in 3 minutes. Luckily she was fast so she was able to do both without the help of her groom. She had her helmet on with a black safety vest. Cross Country was probably her least favourite. It terrified her. A small mistake could be the end of you. She lead Clyde to the gate.
Ring
The small fjord leapt into a swift, bouncy canter. Sophie steadied him as best she could before each and every fence. He neared a ditch and began to back off. Sophie urged him on, tightening her feel on the reins to keep him from ducking out. After they cleared it, Sophie knew she had to gallop him in order to fit in the time. Clyde's stride opened as he galloped smoothly, clearing every fence with ease. "Final fence, Bud" she whispered to him. It was the most challenging of all, a hedge styled wide oxer. She prepared Clyde, shortening his powerful stride. He fought for a second before giving in. He leapt with such confidence. He truly was one of the best horses ever.

Sophie sat there, wide awake scrolling through her Instagram. She saw multiple pictures of her and Clyde in the Cross Country. She smiled to herself. She had a few hours before she had to be down at the barn so she was good for time.
Knock knock
"Come in" she called, not moving her gaze from her phone until she saw and ice-blue eyed boy.
"Keefe" she whispered as she scrambled to get up and face him.
"I-I'm so so sorry. I was being an idiot and-" Keefe cut her off by embracing her in a tight hug. She fell into it. It felt so good to be back in his arms again.

Keefe Sencen
——
Keefe held her tightly. Scared to lose her again. "It's okay, Foster" he said, kissing her forehead, gently.
"But it isn't. I shouldn't of reacted like that." He tilted her chin so he could see her face.
"I would of done the same thing" he spoke softly as he brushed a tear off her face. "But I never could of make it this far" he smiled, trying to remind her that she was in the Olympics.
"I missed you" she said, leaning into him.
"I missed you to. Do you have time to catch up?" He smiled when she nodded. He took her over to the couch in her room and sat down wrapping his arm around her. She filled him in on everything that had happened. His heart broke when he had learned that she had been offended by some rich guy. She lay on his chest. Looking beautiful in the morning light. He stroked her soft hair but kept his other arm, around her softly.

(A/n- I wrote all of that up there at 11pm after a long day. Sorry if it is bad)

"I should probably get ready" she whispered. He nodded his head and kissed her forehead one more time before she got up. She smiled softly at him before going over to her shelf and grabbing some clothes. She hurried to the bathroom and Keefe stayed in his thoughts thinking about Sophie.

Sophie Foster
——
Sophie gathered her reins and walked Clyde in. Sophie looked at the stadium. That's a lot of people.
Clyde must of felt her nerves because he began to back up, hesitantly. She put her leg on to move him forwards but he rose on his hind legs. Sophie sat up and grabbed a chunk of mane that was close to his ears. As soon as he came down, she cranked his head towards her leg circling to keep him from trying again. After a second he calmed down.
Ring
Clyde leapt into a canter before Sophie has asked him to. He threw a large, powerful buck, lifting all four feet of the ground. Fortunately Sophie sat it before halting him.
"Mother of god, Clyde, calm down" she whispered before picking up a slow canter. She lengthened his stride once they past the starting line and approached the fence steadily. It was a narrow oxer with bright colours. Clyde came in with a rocky distance to it, despite having a perfect pace but thankfully picked up his feet before anything came down. Once they landed, Sophie breathed a sigh of relief as she cantered on. They cut corners tightly and kept a quick, steady pace. They crossed the finish line and Sophie brought Clyde back to a walk and patted his damp neck. She threw her arms around him once they went past the gate. She walked him out. Silveny has already gone which was a life saver, since she was exhausted.

Sophie cantered Silveny gracefully, with Clyde on a lead beside her as they performed the closing routine. She halted in line with the rest of the riders.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! We have your results for this year's Olympics!!" The crowd cheered. The spokesman announced the winners.
"And for our Equestrian division we have Livvy Peterson for France taking home bronze!!" He paused as the crowd roared,
"And taking home silver is, Eric Eastman for Canada!!" The crowd roared louder this time.
"Our gold home taker is.... Sophie Foster from The United States!!"
