⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀APRYL EXITED HER bathroom once she'd finished getting dressed. She'd ran up to her place to take a quick shower before running errands with Amos. She grabbed her bowl of fruit, from the bouquet she'd been given, and took a seat on her bed. It seemed the errands may have been canceled how comfortable Amos had gotten in his place, staring at his phone. He was looking at both plane tickets and also a location for a local bondsman to get Gyro out from Atlanta. However, after reading up on the process, it seemed it would be easier to just go north to bail his friend and also check in with Bebe.

"Everything alright?" Apryl squeezed the juice from the pineapple that was held between her lips and then proceeded to eat. She looked at his downward facing eyes. He nodded, responding shortly, "Yeah." She frowned some, not liking him just now being back and already back to ignoring her. Setting the bowl to the side and licking the possible stickiness from her fingers, she pinched his phone from between his fingers. She placed it to the side as she leaned forward into his lap. Amos stared down into her face, smirking slowly at her subtle demand for his undivided attention.

"Are you gonna tell me where you were for two weeks?" She scooted up into his lap, wrapping her arms around the perimeter of his neck. His hands found her hips and gripped them, leaning forward to meet lips with her. He pecked them a couple of times before deepening it slightly. He pulled back, tucking his lips as his eyes peered off into hers. Something about her just eased him and the feeling of trusting her came natural. Amos breathed out softly, intertwining his fingers behind the lower part of her back.

"About. . . two months ago. My homeboys and I got ourselves into some deep shit. With some other niggas, out of town niggas. We stole some shit off them and it was stupid. I wasn't really tryna do all that but my nigga, Gy, he was money hungry. He really wanted us to eat mo' than we were doing because we was good. But he saw more for us.—" Apryl least expected him to start opening up in this manner so she was sure to get more comfortable. She moved over to the side of him, criss-crossing her legs as she held his hand and allowed him to talk, being only a listening ear. Amos dropped his attention down to her small, pretty hands, caressing each finger underneath his own.

"My best friend and my nigga both robbed them. Not long after, my best friend and my girl best friend brother both got killed in the same moment. We don't know by who but it don't take a scientist to connect it to that mistake we made. They killed niggas to get out that spot so it was bound to happen, but it don't make it any easier to know my brother gone and my other one got arrested. I had to go out of town to handle business for him while he was booked to settle shit for good, y'know? Because that's not who we were. Not no killas', none like that. Just wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong thing on they mind." Amos summed up. He glanced over at her staring at him and looked away.

"Ion want you lookin' at me as some hood nigga with baggage because I'm not. I'd never put you in harm's way—" She cut him off and shook her head. "I know, Amos." She begin and cupped his face in her hands, having him look at her. "I look at you as a sweet grown, black man who makes me feel so special. You've treated me better in the short time we've known each other than guys at private schools whose supposed to be somebody. And weren't shit but pricks." A smile pinched at the corner of his cheek, prepping his dimple to deepen. She leaned forward and placed a kiss on his lips. "I'm so sorry for your loss, baby." She ended, pouting against his lips.
