"Why are you doing this?!" an older man asked. His head and face were covered in blood after he took a lot of hit while being held by two huge men on either sides. "Like I told you, submit or die. It's as simple as that. You have resisted me more than I can allow but I'm giving you one last chance." "My loyalty is to Miss Ven--" a bullet drilled through the man's head and they let him drop on the floor. Crimson surrounded him like how the sea entraps an island. "Let's go."
"Mademoiselle, please, just cooperate." "My answer is absolute" the lady answered with thick French accent. She's sitting unharmed across that man while being surrounded by his minions all ready to kill her in a second. "I know I can't trust your family, especially your brother. Miss Venice was blinded by love that is not even true." Arrows went flying towards the minions that killed them. The other that was supposed to kill the man was easily evaded and went through her chest. "Such a waste, I even like you too" the man stood up and drilled a bullet into her body before leaving.
"Old man and young man said they were not able to do a negotiation" Dale told his brother after receiving calls from their other brothers. "What a waste, they were great assets too" Hale grunted. "But the good news is we got the majority." "It would be easier to negotiate with the other higher ups if we got those two." "Don't fret too much, even small ants can take down a huge rat" Dale assured but Hale is not convinced. "Half of them are now dead, do you really think they won't notice?" "That's because you've made your move too late. If you only started it even when she's around, we won't be pressed like helpless olives." "I told you she's too wary. We would've been dead by now if we did that." "That's the problem with you. You're too scared of her. Or have you really fallen--" "I would never" Hale cut off. "To that kind of woman."
"There's still a heartbeat, but it is fading." "That's good enough." They wrapped up the blood-soaked lady and took her out of that place into their hideout. The arrow and the bullet were both pulled off and she was stitched up while blood is being transferred. "It's either the shooter is a marksman or intentionally missed the spot. But either way, let's just be thankful" Faile remarked after they finished the operation. A day after that, the butler named Gideon came. "He's a goner. The bullets did him" he reported. "My letters are already delivered. Open up the site" Yleine, who just came, told Faile who's already in front of the laptop. "I'm already receiving confirmations" Faile answered then Gideon took out another laptop as well as Yleine.
Gideon is in charge of their security while Yleine is reconfirming those who are answering in the communication site. The moment they receive a confirmation, Yleine would receive a footage from all the cameras around the address and is directed to their satellite. "So far so good" she assured them. "How many patients do we have?" Faile asked. "Mademoiselle is the forty-eighth" Yleine replied. "Do you really think they won't hold their guns behind us?" Gideon asked honestly worried. "You don't need to worry about that. We have the word and the seal as our back-up" Faile assured and leaned at the back of his chair. "Where did you get the double anyway?" Gideon wondered. "That's a secret" Faile winked then they all focused on their laptops when they heard a beeping.
"It seems he's finally making his move but he's hacking the wrong site" Yleine informed after tracking the warning down. "Stupid as ever" Faile sneered. "Did you push him back Eon?" Yleine asked Gideon. "I stopped him then showed the real site he should hack. It would look like both sites are one and the same though." "Let me cut him off" Faile volunteered while wearing a smile on his face. His fingers were quick on the keyboard making a racket but not until he's done. "There" he smiled confidently. "You don't like him, do you?" Gideon asked. "I hate men who disrespect women."
Their eyes darted towards the person standing at the door. She's wary at first as she scans the people in that room. Her gaze froze on Yleine. Without a word, she went to embrace the younger lady. "I know you're safe" she said. "Have we met somewhere ma'am?" Yleine asked surprised and wondering. The lady pulled of and levelled her face with Yleine's. "You're my baby, are you not?" she asked full of hope but Yleine just smiled at her. "I'm afraid I'm not." "B-but you look just like Ven--" "Yleine is her name ma'am. Now please go back to your bed. You're not fully well yet" Gideon told her kindly and stood beside them. The lady obeyed and let Gideon help her onto the bed. "Why do they mistake me as Miss Venice when I'm nothing compared to her?" Yleine asked and went back on her laptop. Faile just stared at her but went back on his work after a while.
The three of them travel from country to country to save those who are worthy of saving in their perspective, and those who can still be saved and keep them in their hideout. They only leave when their target leaves and France is their last destination. Gideon has been keeping track of the younger, the other two, and the older. "There might be war if we ever met each other on the same place" Faile said while staring at the ceiling with his mug of coffee on the table. "I hate wars" Gideon grunted and gave Yleine her cup of tea. "Don't worry Eon, we won't let that happen" Yleine assured him and received her tea. "I strongly believe in that El, but I can't stop worrying" Gideon turned to the tray of food he is to give the lady when she suddenly appeared at the door. I'm glad I haven't carried that yet, Gideon sighed. He's easy to scare. Yleine giggled at the relieved expression on his face.
