"Hi Crystal," Apple greeted his new girlfriend politely.
Crystal smiled back at him. "Hi," she beamed back. Apple was different to Vann Melon and Avocado. He was much more kind, genuine, determined to treat Crystal better as she had been unlucky the last two times she dated, and he wanted her to know that not everyone was bad.
"How are you today?"
"I'm good," Crystal smiled, "mostly because I have you here."
Apple looked touched. "Thanks. I can say the same when I'm with you."
"You know, I was looking back through old pictures, and I was just thinking about how much time has passed." Crystal sighed as Apple listened to her eagerly. "I remember so clearly when I first dated Avocado, even to my first child... and... it went too quickly, and here I am. With five children and on my third boyfriend."
Apple laughed. "I mean, time goes quickly for everyone."
Crystal pulled out a photo from her photo album and displayed it to Apple openly in her hands. The photo depicted Crystal with black and purple hair, standing behind Avocado, who was nervously sitting on a bike that had stabilisers attached. Crystal seemed to be encouraging him to ride the bike with her big smile and hearty attention towards him.
Apple smiled at the picture. "You look so different," he commented. "It must have been a very long time ago."
"It was," she confirmed with a sigh. "I wish I had more pictures with you."
"We can always make pictures now," he replied, grinning at her.
"Yeah!" Crystal replied enthusiastically, slipping the photo of her and Avocado back into her album before closing the cover and stowing it away in the box on the table beside her. "Do you want to add these to your photo album?"
He laughed. "If I had a photo album!"
She rolled her eyes and laughed. "I don't wanna add you to mine. I don't want to put you with Avocado and Vann Melon. You're nothing like them."
"I wish I had pictures," he said. "I would have had a photo album if I had pictures. Maybe I should go and get one."
"I'll buy one for you," Crystal said.
"No," he replied, "I don't want you buying one for me."
"But I want to buy something for you,"
Crystal protested."It's not fair."
"I don't care. You get to spend money on me."
"Yes..." he replied not confidently. "But... you cannot."
"Wow."
"Don't spend money on me!!!"
Crystal thought for a while. "What if it's free?" She asked.
He raised an eyebrow. "You're not stealing from the shop, are you?"
She laughed. "No! I can ask one of my sisters. They're bound to have a spare somewhere."
"That they want to give me?"
"You're my boyfriend, and I love you more than myself. So if they want to give me anything in the future, they must give you this."
"Ahhhhh... you're too nice."
She smiled. "So are you."
***
"So who is this new boyfriend?" Scarlett, Crystal's sister asked, an empty photo album in her hands.
"He's called Apple," Crystal replied proudly. "He's definitely a good guy. He's far too nice."
