Via was standing next to her twin sister, but was silent, her thoughts keeping her mind busy. Surprisingly, Yuyu was quiet too, seeming to be concentrating on something intangible, her eyes on her sister, though.
Time was not something to be messed with. And without space, there would be no time. Via's eyes turned from brown to gold as she could see the present melting into the past and the future melting into the present in front of her.
She was stuck in a timeliness like everyone else, but she was the only one with the power to break free, so why would she want to stay? She wasn't like the others. She was special.
Hmm... I wonder what future me would look like. Via thought to herself.
"You know I'm telepathic too, right?" Yuyu asked, laughing. "I swear, take me with you if you go to the future. You can't seriously be thinking about going without me?"
Via said nothing, but Yuyu knew that she had been considering it.
"Hey! We always do things together, remember?" Yuyu reminded her. "It's only Katie that doesn't."
"I know that we do things together," Via explained reluctantly, "but trust me, I know that the future can be embarrassing. Who knows what I'm like? I rather just see for myself before I know it's safe to show you."
"I can't believe this!" Yuyu shouted back. "I thought we did everything together, and now you're leaving me behind!"
Via pouted. "I don't want to," she complained. "You'd do the same if you had my power."
"No, I wouldn't..."
She raised an eyebrow. "You don't believe what you're saying."
"You seriously don't want to take me with you because you think it's embarrassing?" Yuyu asked. "I can read your mind. I know everything embarrassing about you already."
Via froze, eyes wide, colour flushing through her face. "I'll bring you to the future if you let me read your mind."
"I can't let you read my mind," she protested.
"Exactly. So you get left out on this for leaving me out on your ability," Via replied happily.
"That's because I can't share, otherwise I would!" Yuyu replied. "Come on, please! I'm not Katie. I just really wanna come with you. I don't want to be stuck in the present. It's so boring and I'll be so lonely if you go without me. You really wanna keep me with Katie? And Roxy?"
"Well, doesn't that suck for you," Via said without any mercy. "Bye." Purple energy exploded out of her as she felt herself being pulled out of the world, out of space, out of time. She wasn't the only one. Something else was there, dragging her behind, and she was trying to reach into the future, but she couldn't quite find it.
So she took a chance with the calculation before she fell back into reality. Not the same reality, but something different.
She was still Via. And Yuyu fell down next to her, bursting out with laughter.
Via sighed and cursed. "I can't believe you followed me. I've never done this before; what if I killed you?""You would have died with me so it's okay!" Yuyu laughed. "And besides, I'd rather be dead than stay with the others in the present without you."
"You're so annoying."
Yuyu grinned at her. "So are you."
A woman walked past them, with the same dark brown hair and same golden eyes as Via.
"Oh my, is that you?" Yuyu asked. "What is that you're wearing?"
Via groaned. "When we go back to the present, I'm totally making sure I don't look like that."
"We're going back to the present?" Yuyu asked."Well, we're not gonna stay here forever."
"Why not?"
Via looked at her darkly. "We could die."
"We could die in the present too?"
"No... I mean... if we change too much stuff here... or change what future us think... that could make us right now stop existing."
"So talking to future me is a bad idea?"
"I'd avoid it. We don't wanna mess up everyone's life."
"Can we eat future food?" Yuyu asked.
"Oh, I want to eat future donuts!" Via replied, excited. "I really doubt that would change the timeline, right?"
"Don't look at me! You know I don't understand much about time-travel."
"One thing I'm looking forward too is partying. Think about it, there's no one to tell us to do school work and we can just have fun every day!"
"And eat donuts all the time," Yuyu added.
"Isn't that us normally, though?"
"Trueeeee!"
Via picked up a leaflet from the ground. "Isn't this perfect?! Yuyu, look!" Yuyu leaned over and read what was written. "A nightclub that's nearby! We got to go!"
"Oh yes!"
