"Come on Ren" shouted Allissa "do you want to get the book or not" as we were dashing down the street to the book store, we were determined to be one of the first to get Iris's new book that was coming out titled "The Sad Story." "Wait up" I shouted "Or even better run ahead as fast as you can to save us a spot in line." "Okay" she yelled back and sprinted up ahead. I kept running even though I knew Allissa would save me a spot because Iris hasn't published a book in three years and told the printing presses to stop printing her books. As I dashed through the streets I was thinking about what adventure I would be sucked into this time, would it be a mystery or a struggle for survival or maybe even a good action novel I thought to myself. The bookstore came into view as I took the next turn onto Firne street and I saw Allissa up ahead near the front of the line waving at me saying "It's almost time to go in." I slide into line right behind here and say breathlessly "at least we are going to get the new book." "I know" she replies "I'll probably finish it by tonight" "Me too" I say knowing I wont have time to read it tonight because I have a project due for school the next day and I haven't even started it yet. The line starts to move forward and I become breathless as we get closer and closer to the store. when we are finally inside the building we both make a mad dash for the new arrivals display and take the last two copies on the shelf  "yes we got it" shouted Allissa already flipping to the about the author section "I know I have missed her books so much" I say "I am going to put this on my story right now" says Allissa taking out her phone and taking a picture of the book then almost simultaneously she gets a bunch of rage comments about how we shouldn't have taken the last ones and how unbelievably rude we are. Allissa and I decided to leave the bookstore through the backdoor to make sure that no one had a chance to steal our new books. I started walking home with the book proudly displayed on top of all my other purchases and as I was walking down the street people were offering to buy it from me at up to five times the price I bought it at. To all of them I said "no this is my book and I have been waiting years for it, if you want one buy it yourself." I eventually got home and showed my mom my new book "Ren you are not going to read it you will finish that project" I sigh "yes mom" and I trudge to my room making a big deal about dragging my feet and moaning trying to get my mom to let up but unfortunately my mom did not realize that this book was the most epic book to have come out in years and I am going to be out of the loop with everyone who bought it. When I reach my room I flop onto my chair next to my laptop and start the presentation that was due the next day about France's role in world war two when I sit down I am right next to the book with it's cover glinting, taunting me to read it and discover the hidden secrets that lies within it's pages. I quickly grab it and shove it up onto a shelf so I wouldn't be tempted to read it while my homework was incomplete because if my mom ever saw me reading "The Sad Story" when I'm supposed to be doing homework she would probably ban me from reading it ever. I work on my project for hours until I hear my phone ringing to the tune of "piano man" by Billy Joel which meant my best friend Allissa was calling me. "Hello" I said checking to make sure my door was closed "hello" Allissa says "did you start reading the book yet" "no I had to finish my project on France" I grumble "Thats a relief because I had to do my project on Austria and had no time to read the book, or even open it for that matter, but I am going to start reading as soon as I get off the phone with you." I hear my mom coming up and quickly put up my phone and tried to look busy on my computer so she wouldn't suspect anything. "Ren it's time for dinner" my mom tells me as she opens the door "Yes mom" i say and close my laptop, put it on the desk, and flip off the lights as I walk out.
