Chapter 3

Parrish

I sighed as I rolled over in bed, I've been up for like 5 minutes I just don't want to get out of this bed.

You ever have that feeling of when you get up in the morning but you don't wanna get up so you just sit there for a while.

Especially if it's cold, I sigh and throw the covers off of me and look up to see a suit jacket hanging on my rolly chair.

I look around but I don't see anyone, then I finally hear the shower cut off and there comes Matteo stepping out of my bathroom.

He only has a towel wrapped around his waist, I low key drool at this in my head but I don't let him see it.

"Like what you see?" He asks and I look at him and raise my eyebrow, "I don't see anything." I say with a shrug.

That was a complete lie though I can see his print through the towel, he chuckles, "Go get dressed." I say getting up.

I walk out of my room and to the kitchen, I need to eat to get this off my mind right now, and I just wanna eat.

I go to the spare bathroom and grab the spare toothbrush and brush my teeth, I wash my face, then walk out the bathroom.

I walk back to the kitchen and prepare for me to eat, he walks into the kitchen mid-way of me chewing a waffle.

"You forgot you have guest?" He asked more than question and I look at him, "Your, your own person." I said.

He looks at me and chuckles, "Your food in the microwave." I say with an eye roll, he smiled at this.

After I finish eating I go to the bathroom, I take a shower and get dressed, I told my dad and my father I would visit today.

I walk back out and look at Matteo talking on the phone in Italian, "Prenditene cura." He says lowly.
(Take care of it.)

He hangs up then turns around and looks at me, "Well it was nice having you but I have to go." I say.

I start pushing him towards the door and he stopped completely and turned around towards me.

"You have plans today?" He asks and I nod, "Yup so you gotta go." I say and he just looks down at me.

"Okay." He says and I smile at this and grab my purse, keys, etc. on my way out the door, and lock it.

I turn around he was just standing there, "What?" I ask, with a questioned look on my face.

"I'm walking you to your car." He said like it was the most obvious thing ever and when he started walking I just wanted to slap his head.

I did it to the air though and walked in front of him and to my car, "I'll text you, mia regina." He says.

He kissed my cheek and back up, I look at him for a second before getting into the car, and starting it.

I pull out of the parking lot and head to my dad's house, when I pull up I sit there for a while.

I really didn't want to walk up all these stairs, but I had to, I start walk up the stairs and finally make it to their front door.

I unlocked the door with my key and walk inside, "I'm home!" I shouted and I hear my dad come from around the corner.

He picked me up and spun me around, even though he's short he's strong, "Hey dad." I say hugging him back.

"We missed me you, you haven't been back for a while now." He says with a pout and I smile.

"I know I've just been busy, but i'm here now." I say, and he nodded and kisses my cheek, guiding me in the house.

I see my father sitting in his chair watching the game, "Hi father." I say walking over to him and leaning down.

I hugged him and he hugged me back, "Hey baby girl, we haven't seen your little face in forever." He says.

I smile, "  Oh well, i'm here now." I say and sit on the couch, while my dad sits in my fathers lap.

We sat and talked for a while till my dad finished dinner, after I ate I thanked them and left.

I went and did some shopping, till it was time for me to go to work, "Hey Parrish?!" I heard someone yell from across the mall.

I closed my eyes and sighed, I turned around and came face to face with an old co-worker of mine.

We were never friends I don't know why she decided to talk to me, in fact we argued all the time.

"Miracle." I said with so much bluntness, I really wasn't looking forward to this conversation at all.

"It's been a long time." She says and I nodded, "Sure." I say nodding then start to walk away.

She hurries and gets in front of me, "And I was thinking we could catch up." She says and I look at her.

"Okay, I don't like you, no thanks." I say and start to walk away, I heard her sigh, "Fine." She says.

I walk out the mall and get in my car and start my car, as i'm about to pull off my phone rings.

I sigh picking it up, "Hello?" I say putting it on speaker, "Duck." I hear Matteo, and I hurry and get down.

Just as I put my head down bullets start to ring out, I stay down till I hear my door unlock and open.

I was about to pull the knife out of my purse, but then I see it's Matteo, he helps me out the car.

I we start walking towards a black SUV, and we get inside and pull off, I catch my breathe then look at him.

Soon we pull up to a nice house and get out, he opens the door for me and walk me inside.

We walk up the steps of the house and he opens the door and let me walk in first, he closes the door and locks it.

I turn around and start to hit him, "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU GET ME INTO!?" I scream.

He grabs my hands and I kick him in he knee and watch him buckle a little, "CALM DOWN!" He yells back.

"I can't calm down when I have people coming after me, probably cause of something that has to do with you!" I yell.

"This one's not on me, I don't know who's after you, but I know that it's not because of me." He says.

I was about to respond but my phone rings in my pocket, I pull it out and sigh seeing it's my dad.

As soon as I answer I hear, "PARRISH! IS THAT YOU?!" He start firing questions at me.

"Yes, it's me, what's wrong?" I ask and he sighs, "Nothing, i'll call you later okay?" He says and I nodded.

"Yea." I say, he hangs up and I put my phone back in my pocket, "Told you it wasn't me." Matteo say's.

"This has nothing to do with my dad, right?" I say more to myself, than Matteo, he just stares at me.

"What?!" I say and walk off not knowing where I was going I just wanted to be by myself at the moment.

I came cross a bathroom and go inside, and sit on the toilet for a while just thinking, can't be about my dad right?

An hour later....

"Come on Parrish come out! I regret buying this big ass house!" I could hear Matteo looking for me.

I've been over my moment it's just funny hearing him scream out looking for me when he's walk passed me like 4 times.

I sigh and stand up off the toilet and put my phone up, I walk to the door and open it and there he is about to walk pass.

"Really?" He say and I smile, I shrug and walk passed him while he just follows me with a pout.
