Once his face was met with the light of his phone, his eyes dart to the text. Dream's heart drops at the sight of the name being presented to him.

George :)

we need to talk

Dream can only stare blankly at the screen, still frozen. He's been waiting for this moment for what feels like years, to hear anything from George, but for some reason the idea of talking to him now completely stops him in his tracks. His mind rushes with a thousand thoughts, yet he's at a loss for words. Overcoming the stiffness, Dream unlocks his phone and makes his way to him and George's messages. In the process, he's ears are met with familiar sound of a second notification coming through.

George :)

you cant avoid me forever dream

All Dream can focus on is the countless ideas running through his head. You have to play it cool, Dream thinks to himself. Whatever has been going on with him lately has to be hidden from George. He would be made fun of forever if anyone learns the fact a silly dispute like this one had gotten to his head so much. 

Dream works up the courage and tries his best to send a witty remark in response.

who ever said i was avoiding you, i could never do that to you georgie 

 but on a serious note, ive been busy

George's response came in sooner than Dream expected.

busy with what? the only thing you do is sleep and play minecraft

so nosy huh? i'll have you know i have been very busy watching Netflix

George :)

of course, that's what youve been busy doing

i dont want to hear it from you george. at least i edit my videos and post on time

whatever, hop on vc? i cant sleep.

An odd feeling begins to form in Dream's stomach, almost like butterflies. The fact George is turning to Dream during his sleepless nights creates a warmth in his heart. Fear comes with this feeling so he quickly dismisses the fuzziness inside. There's no way Dream can fall for his best friend; Or could he? he wonders to himself his mind drifting back to the heat burning on his cheeks. Would being with George really be that bad? Dream knows George never would hurt him in the way partners have in the past. He couldn't see George hurting Dream even if he tried. The bond between their friendship is unbreakable; Their romance could be unstoppable. 

A ping wrenches Dream back to reality.

How much time has passed, Dream can't help but ponder. He hopes it wasn't long enough for George to question.
