The next month was chaos for the family. Switching venues every few days took its toll and soon everyone grew tired of traveling in the van for hours at a time. Maria was also due within the next few weeks and was therefore having a difficult time keeping up with everyone as well as performing. She loved it and was happy to help but her body was getting harder to combat by the day.

Dr. Wasner was still adamant about the family singing choral and had developed a reputation for it. Because of this, the children grew to resent him, they didn't have fun singing anymore and their faces while performing began to reflect that.

The Captain was overwhelmed with all of this happening at once and tried to remain consistent to help his family.

On the one hand he wished he could explain Maria's situation to Harris and take a hiatus. Meanwhile, he worried for the other children, this lifestyle was fine, but nowhere ideal and the children yearned for stability and proper schooling. Not to mention Johanna was running around more than ever and he could already tell the constant traveling was affecting the toddler.

Georg was also aware of the dwindling amount audience members with every location. It seemed all was left were nuns and the elderly.

The only ones really enjoying themselves were Carl and Liesl. They were hopelessly in love and often went on walks in order to escape the family for a few brief moments. Carl was a tremendous help to the family and both Maria and Georg were grateful for his help but were beginning to realize he may not want to make being a chauffer his career due to the fact he had been asked "are we there yet?" Too many times to count.

They were up in Maine for a couple of weeks traversing the state and were right near the coast. The family took the opportunity to enjoy the outside before fall ate up the warm air in exchange for it's harsh wind. It felt nice to relax for a few fleeting moments.

They were performing at the final venue in Maine and of course someone found a peephole in the grand.

Louisa looked through and sighed

"What?" Brigitta asked

"Look" she was melancholic

"There's only 17 people out there, and 5 are nuns" Brigitta spoke

"I know" Louisa rolled her eyes

"Is that woman breathing" Brigitta asked

"I want to see" Louisa pushed her out of the way.

"Talk about a dead audience" Brigitta cracked and both girls giggled

"Come on girls" Georg tapped their shoulders and they ran to their spots.

They gave their performance with little enthusiasm. It was was a long hour, it seemed like two.

After the curtain closed and the audience, mostly due to age, slowly exited the building.

Dr. Wasner was feeling the tension and decided to retreat early.

Maria noticed her little ones lack of happiness and although she was weary she started singing a hunting song they had learned.

Marta joined in a bit and Johanna squirmed her way out of Carl's arms.

Kurt had a special part so he sang as the older three girls began to move the risers they stood on and Friedrich polished his violin.

The Captain sat at the piano after getting Maria's attention and began to stroke the keys to her tune and winked. Brigitta joined him on the piano bench.

Johanna had run through the grand curtain and by the time he realized Gretl ran after her so Carl followed.

The young man and little girl were running in step with the song being sung behind them as they ran in between the seats. The problem was the seats were tall and Johanna was not. Kurt too ran through, still singing.

The audience members who were struggling down the stairs heard the commotion and made their way back up to find two young men and a little girl running around and singing coming from somewhere.

Louisa and Liesl had moved one riser backstage while singing and Friedrich was plucking his violin, not aware of what was going on outside

The audience members, two old ladies' and an elderly man watched the toddler scale the stage and run to the side. Kurt followed and behind the curtain the family still sang and played as Kurt saw her scale the rigging pole and grab onto a rope

"Ahhh ahhh" he sang. Carl and Gretl ran in as the grand opened on what the family was doing and Johanna's rope plopped to the ground gently.

The three onlookers watched the scene unfold

"Joey!" Georg yelled and left the piano

She was fine, she thought she was hilarious. He grabbed her and carried her to the stage where the rest of the family waited and Carl and Gretl followed

"Johanna what do you think you were doing?" Maria brushed her head

The audience saw how comfortable they were and found their song quite good and the family was quite charming, running around and being chaotic.

The von Trapps didn't know they were being watched, but they also didn't realize how quickly news can travel in a small town.

Hey y'all! Hope you enjoyed this filler...rip sorry. I thought it was fluffy at least
