CHAPTER THREE
HARRY POTTER
THE NIGHT WAS CALM AND AS QUIET AS ONE COULD GET IN THE CITY. A building made of degrading bricks and rain yellow windows, inside laying cozily in their bed, was (Y/N) and Harry. Though both had their eyes closed and their bodies stilled, unlike Harry, his girlfriend was still awake. With the pillow she hugged between her arms and her face nuzzled into it, she couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep. The London night traffic could be heard from outside the windows softly along with the faint drizzle of rain pitter-padding against the glass. With the occasional light from cars bouncing off the wall and over the furniture causing shadows to line the floor, (Y/N) couldn't help but shuffle around.
Letting out a sigh, she turned over to her boyfriends figure. His face was relaxed as well as his body. The lights danced over his face illuminating the tan skin he had and black hair. Reaching out her hand slowly, the (H/C) girl used the tips of her fingers to push the hair away from his scar tracing over it lightly. The roughness and depth of it standing out against his smooth skin. Tracing over his features the best she could for the next few minutes, (Y/N) couldn't help but let herself close her eyes in content. Letting her mind ease and fade off, she felt sleep calling her and before she knew it, it all went blank.
The sheets shuffled against his body and sweat gathered around his hair and face. Harry's head twitched and body began to thrash. The images and memories running through his head like a movie on repeat. Flashes of lights, the sounds of screams and cries, the laughter of Voldemort, spells being cast, etc. He was reliving the battle all over again after all these years at Hogwarts.
A scream tore through his throat raw with emotion. A painful heat spread through his body and it felt as if everything was falling apart. He was trapped inside his own mind unable to escape from the nightmare.
"Harry! Harry wake up!"
Another scream escaped his mouth.
"Harry, please!"
With her face covered in worry, (Y/N) continued to yell out for him. Her hands where on his shoulders and she was straddling his waist holding him down. His black hair stuck to his forehead and his muscles flexed against the (H/C) girl as she tried to stabilize him. With each scream and each breath, (Y/N) felt herself slowly fearing she wouldn't be able to wake him up in time.
With a jolt, Harry snapped open his eyes. The green of them shining wildly as they twitched each and every way looking around. Deep breaths entered and exited his mouth as he gasped for air. Tilting his head, the male finally realized the weight on his stomach and quiet whispers leaving the figures mouth.
"(Y/N)..?" He asked feebly.
"I'm here Harry." She whispered back lowering her body to nuzzle her face in his neck. "Don't worry, you're okay. I'm here."
Shifting his face into her hair, he lifted his arms and wrapped them around his body. "It happened again. The dream." He explained his words quite windblown still trying to calm his racing heart that pounded in his chest.
"I know."
"I saw them... all of them." He continued. "Fred, Remus, Dumbledore, Tonks..."
Taking a breath, breathing in his scent. (Y/N) turned her head to skim her nose over his jaw as a sign of comfort. Feeing the dampness on her nose from his skin, she let herself ignore it. Using her hand to push herself up far enough to look at his face, she used her other hand to lean over and grab his glasses from the nightstand. Pushing herself all the way back on her knees, she carefully slid the rimmed glass on his face slowly.
Blinking to adjust to the lenses, Harry was finally able to see his girlfriend looking down at him. "Do you want to talk about it?" (Y/N) asked with a hint of encouragement.
"You know what happens."
"Yes..." she trailed off. "But it's still better to hear your problems than ignore them. Talking helps more than you think."
Shaking his head in denial, Harry squeezed his eyes closed as well as gathering the sheets in a fist. "Ju-just do the spell please." He mumbled trying to his the crack in his voice.
Staring down at him with her (E/C) eyes, (Y/N) watched as the sadness and anger built up behind their wall of green. She felt herself also feel sad due to his decisions. Each night it was a constant battle of nightmares or insomnia. Voldemort may be dead, but his memory and actions have left scars on many. Especially on Harry. The boy he was set to kill and the boy who's till defeated him.
Leaning down to place a soft kiss on his lips, (Y/N) removed herself from his stomach and reached over to her nightstand and grabbed her wand. The wood felt rigid but smooth against her palm and warm. Turning, she gave him a forced smile.
Taking that que, Harry reached up and took off his glasses placing them on the nightstand letting his eyes fall shut once more. His body relaxed and the pit in his stomach never once settled as the soft murmur of the charm was being said before his body went numb and he lost all senses falling into darkness.
With a silver stream of light, (Y/N) watched as she once again, made Harry fall into a dreamless sleep waving her wand while murmuring, "Somnum."
