August 31~

Dipper's POV:

It was a bright, sunny, morning and I had just woken up. I yawned and stretched my arms wide when Bill suddenly arrived at the foot of my bed.

"Good morning my Pine Tree~" Bill sang, "Happy Birthday!"

I rubbed my eyes, "Good morning Bill, but it's not my birthday." I told him.

Actually, I had no IDEA what day it was today.

"August thirty-first right?"

I nodded at him.

"Well, that's today!"

I know I've lost track of time, but there was NO WAY it was the last day of summer already.

"Bill, there's no way." I said, "I haven't been here that long, maybe a month or so."

"Well..."

"Well, what?"

"Time sort of works differently here, in the Fearamid I mean. It may only feel like it's been a month, but it's actually been three."

My jaw dropped. I couldn't believe I lost two months of my life here.

"But that's beside the point Pine Tree," he said, "I made you breakfast in bed for your special day!"

Bill snapped his fingers and a plate of pancakes with syrup, whipped cream, and a cherry appeared on my lap.

"You really didn't have to do this Bill, it's just another day of the year."

Bill gasped as if I had just murdered someone, "Don't be ridiculous Pine Tree! Your birth is definitely something worth celebrating!" he said with a cheery smile, "Now eat up and meet me in the dining room, I have a special surprise for you~"

He snapped his fingers and teleported himself away.

I poked at my food, still trying to accept the fact three months had already passed.

And I wonder what he's up to this time.

Bill's POV:

I waited in the dining room for what felt like forever. I made the table shorter so it would be easier for us to chat.

My fingers fidgeted as I tapped my foot under the table, starting to get impatient.

What's taking him so long?!

I said, 'Come here after eating breakfast!' and he STILL isn't here!

I quickly stood up from my chair, I should probably make sure he-

"PINE TREE!" I said, casually and immediately sat back down when he finally came in.

"So, what's the surprise?" he asked me.

Wow, impatient much?

"It's nothing practical, but I think you'll like it." I said, "I got the feeling that the ring I gave you has been giving you some distress lately."

Pine Tree looked down at the ring around his neck and bit his lip, "Yeah, a little..."

"Well, I just want you to know that I don't want you to feel like you're being forced into this. For what it's worth I-" I said, trying not to sound nervous, "I can't imagine being with any other meatsack than you. So," I snapped my fingers and pointed at the ring blushing, "Read the inscription."
