Roomates

Diana:

The school is going on a trip out of town and every room has two people who aren't in the same team. of course I get paired with the prettiest girl in school. Akko. I have been enumerated with her since the beginning but I always acted like a total pain. Now we're kind of friends and it will stay that way. I mean like Akko is straight and even if she wasn't I'm probably not her type.

"Atsuko, I promise I will not take the top bunk if we are in bunk beds, go use the restroom and I'll take your stuff to the room, here is your key". I have Akko her key, she has had to use the restroom for the last hour so I make sure she goes as soon as possible. "Okay, ima go pee. Be right back!" She says in her normally cheery voice and she grabs my hand for a second. Fuck. I know it isn't really nice to curse but around her I can't help it. "I'll be in the room!" I yell slightly as she gets farther.

I go into the room Atsuko and I shall be sharing for the next two months. There are two beds opposite of each other, directly across the door is a window with a fantastic view over a lake. Two months. Might as well make it homey. I put on some music and start dancing slightly as I put away all of my belongings.

Akko:

I finish in the bathroom and go to our room. Of course I'm sharing with Diana, she's so beautiful and elegant and smart and-  I open the door and there she is, her hair in a messy bun, her shirt is unbuttoned and tie loosened as she carefully folds her clothes and dances along to the music- and hot. I stand there for a moment.

"Dia" my voice seams to startle the girl with green hair as she slightly jumps. "Hello, Akko. I was just putting up my clothes and some stuff to make the room more comfortable." My heart jumps when she says Akko, I know everyone calls me that but with her it's just different. "Yea, Ima do that too in a bit."

After a bit I take out all of my clothes and shove them in a drawer. I can feel Diana staring into my back and get up off of her bed, she puts down a book.

Diana:

Bloody hell. Of course she just puts all of her clothes in a drawer haphazardly. Before even thinking I put down my book and get out of my bed.

"Akko" "yea Dia?" She turns around and I just then realize how close we are and start to back away.my arms on the sides of the dresser, her pinned in between me at the wooden furniture. For a second her hands go to my sides to hold me there but as quickly as she put them there she took them away. I look into her eyes and just want to stare at the ruby red color for hours. "Um- are you real- are you really putting your clothing away like that?" For a split second she looks at my lips but I pretend I don't notice "yea?" Someone comes into the room without knocking and we quickly separate.

"Hey Lotte" I clear my throat and go to my side of the room and start to put up a few posters. "Uh- hey Akko, am I interrupting something? "No- no of course not, what's up?" Of course not. Of course she thinks it's nothing. Maybe it was nothing. To her at least. "I was just coming in to see how you were doing...." Lotte trails off " I'm doing great. Perfectly splendid- actually." " of course, well I'll be out of your way." This whole situation is quite awkward.

"Sooooooo, Dia?" "Hmmm?" I fluff a few pillows and fix the blanket on my bed " wanna help me fold all my clothes and stuff?" She knows I enjoy folding clothing, it has a sort of therapeutic feeling to it. "I would be happy to."
