"Curtis."

The man in front of me nice silvery hair to give a nice contrast to his white and black hair. I decide to start with a simple question, holding back my emotions.

"How is your job going?"

Charles's curious eyes widen as if he's seeing me for the first time.

"What do you mean?"

"The dressmaker that I'm supposed to meet today."

"Yes."

"I'm sure that I've mentioned the Wicking Wardrobe, no?"

"That's right, your grace."

"By the way, the person who came in today is Rose of Wicking."

At the moment, I could see his eyes lightly raise.

"Rose." Curtis then puts on his glasses and turns toward Rose, who stiffens like a statue. He glances at her and her assistants with an indifferent look and bends his head toward me. "I'm sorry, your grace. I think it's my fault."

"You mean, I didn't make a mistake, did I?"

As if we're done figuring out the situation.

Curtis shakes his head, saying, "No," without an excuse. "I should have checked properly, but there was a merchant checking in. I'm sorry."

When Curtis bows his head in apology, Rose's face, which could not break the aura of the three people gathered around the sofa, turns pale as if she's about to faint.

Was going to, I should say.

I'd rather fall down if I was her.

I watch as her eyes go back and forth to Charles.

Do you think it's hard to live in Lapel? Well, it's going to be harder since you've lied to me.

"Is Lapel Castle just a place where unauthorized traders can just come and go, Curtis?"

"I'm sorry. That—" As soon as Curtis's words leave his mouth, a strangled harsh voice bursts out.

Catherine, the savior to Rose, opens the door of room and appears in haste.

The party in question has come.

Of course, it's a situation that I couldn't even dream of happening.

After checking the faces of the people gathered in the parlor, Catherine's eyes shake like an earthquake as a confused expression shows on her face.

You must have felt that your work has already been discovered from the tension in the air.

I can hear the sound of her agonizing over how to solve this problem.

If it was me and Curtis, what would she do?

With Charles here though, it'll not be easy to gloss over things.

Katherine knows it so it's hard for her to say a word.

Then I'll make you fluster.

"What's going on, Catherine?"

Acting as if she doesn't know anything, Catherine quickly glances at me with a clumsy smile. "It's nothing."

Aha, are you trying to get out of this?

When Catherine and Rose exchange glances, I look over with a thoughtful look.

"Ah, Curtis. I don't think she's a merchant. The clothes of the former duchess, and younger du—"

"No!"
