Chapter 3. I Will Change the Genre From Now On
.
.
A few days after my many sleepless night, I behave unlike myself.
"Where is that person?"
It seems that rumors of The (Deadly) Romance of the Century in Lapel has gone all the way to the capital.
Mother-in-law, Madame Regina Erst' youngest daughter, Lady Evangeline Diago, who had previously cut off her relationship with Charles and sworn to never step in Lapel again, has come.
A footless rumor really travels a thousand miles.
However, I don't know what version of the rumors about the two of us has passed to the capital.
Evangeline, with braided long black hair and a red veil that wrapped her entire body, both are characteristics of the Diago family, looks like a female warrior before a battle.
Intermediate boss appeared.
It's as if her entire body is screaming 'I am a Diago!'
"Here you are."
I smile brightly, even though I can see Evangeline's expression has slightly distorted when I greet her so. Maybe I should laugh as well.
Since it's the first time I've seen my in-law, I can't greet them with a frown.
"Welcome."
"Welcome—here? Ha!"
Did my friendly smile as the lord of the castle offend her?
"Ha, really."
She shakes her head, laughing as if it's absurd.
Maybe it's because I didn't introduce myself.
"Abella Di-"
"Alright."
I reach out my hand, but is rejected.
"-ago."
She then looks up, continuing what she previously wanted to say.
"Put Catherine's back into the maid's house. It's mother's order."
She says it like an order.
So it wasn't the rumor but Catherine's communication.
I then stare at Evangeline, finally understanding the reason for her sudden appearance.
When will our Catherine wake up?
I thought that her tenacity of not knowing when to give up is great. If I had been embarrassed that much, I wouldn't have been able to show my face.
So she contacted the capital and called in another powerful person.
This is really great.
Of course, Evangeline is someone with real power.
"Do you know that Catherine is mother's maid?"
"Catherine is-"
"She is the person who has served mother since the Imperial Palace."
"Ah."
"A woman who came to Lapel with joy and devoted herself to the Diago family! Did you kick out my Catherine as the head maid?"
