"But—"

After washing, my body and mind become clear, neat, and very calm.

He looks at me up and down.

"Are you really going to dress like that?"

He asks. The corners of his eyes pinch together.

As expected, he doesn't like the pants I'm wearing.

But, I like them.

It's too cumbersome to wear a dress and go to the ranch to meddle around.

"Yes."

I sharply reply and walk down the stairs. He watches me with an uncomfortable gaze.

"Hmm."

I hear something in between his words.

He then looks at my pants with a disapproved face and lifts his head.

Even if I don't have abilities like Leo, I feel like I can hear Charles' thoughts.

"Why?"

I then make eye contact with him.

"..."

Of course, I ask again, "Why?"

The situation doesn't change when he replies, "I don't like the outfit."

As a courtesy to someone who doesn't like it, I would like to recognize his feelings even if I don't feel bad about them.

So, I ask.

"What's wrong with it?"

"You don't know?"

"No, there's nothing strange about it."

Lowering my head, I touch the jacket with the hand resting on my waist before looking up again.

"Aren't you wearing men's pants right now?"

He doesn't like the pants I'm wearing as expected.

And—

"Pants that people wear."

I correct 'man' to 'people', put both hands on my waist, and bring my legs together.

"..."

But, why isn't he saying yes like usual?

Usually when I say things like this, he'd casually turn around and say yes. However, he's still looking at me with an objectionable face.

As time goes by,

"..."

I feel my crooked legs and bent waist stiffen.

What's wrong with him?

Since becoming Abella, I have seen a lot of his acting as a lover of the century.

What's been revealed in Abella's mind is that he's a friendly man in front of people.

I have watched him act out the love affair in order to subdue me from divorcing.

But, those eyes...

It's not acting, is it?

You don't really seem to like it.

It can be said that he looks like a boyfriend whose expression is rotten because he doesn't like his girlfriend's attire.

It's not like I've experienced that before.

Honestly, I can tell the other person's feelings even if I don't go through that.

(T/N: By that, she means dating)

It's not acting.

He really hates it.

But, isn't it up to me to decide what I wear?

Don't tell me you really think you're my husband?!

'His Grace's yours!'

Hah!

I push Leo's voice that's about to pop out in the back of my head, and I make eye contact with him.

This guy, does this mean you like me?

Oh, no way.

The love of his life will soon appear, so can he be shaken this much?

No way.

That'll collapse the character that the author's created.

Because Charles Diago is a man who only loves Abigail and exists only for that person.

Yes, he hasn't met her, his true love yet, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm being moved by him because he's next to me.

Abella's beauty and lovely appearance, combined with my charms—

Stop.

If I open my heart because of this small moment when my heart is moved—

All that will remains—

The poor wife of Charles Diago, who has an affair.

I really don't want that.

Honestly, if I'm by his side, I'll die, but I think being the wife of an adulterer seems a bit worse.

I've already given up on being loved and have only looked at my indifferent, blunt, and rich husband's back, who suddenly changes 180 degrees and says, 'I've finally known love.'

A husband who goes straight to another woman.

A husband who doesn't care about having an affair in this world

Bastard.

Above all else, unlike Abella, who had struggled to receive that love at least once, Abigail had Charles' heart too easily.

The heart of Abella, who hated such a woman before her death, is understandable.

Abella, your life is hard.

Reminiscing about Abella's past life, I click my tongue.

"How did you make those clothes? What are you looking at?"

As he listens, he asks with his arms folded.

You're probably curious about that.

Well, there hasn't been a case of a woman wearing pants.

As far as he knows.

"Oh, Red Haired Ronnie wore pants under her robe. It makes it easier to move around."

Maybe he's been thinking about it for a while, but he strangely looks at me.

"I see...Curtis?"

Charles leans slightly toward him.

Even though we stand pretty close, he whispers quietly so that he won't be heard.

"Go."

As if he has finished, he then steps aside with a refreshed expression.

"..."

I'm very curious about what he said to Curtis that had him leaning toward him.

"Alright."

I can't fall for him.

I should have put out a condition in order to tell him things.

In any case, I won't fall for you, Charles.

Like a tragic heroine burning with vengeance, I proudly walk past him.

All the while, I feel a little cheesy.

.

.

"Leo!"

It looks like preparations for winter are happening because some greenery has turned brown.

Far from the open field, near the end—

"Your Grace!"

She sees Leo running.

She's not sure if he's heard her inner or outer voice, but she opens her arms for the approaching child.

"I thought you said he was sick."

Charles, who's standing next to her, narrows his eyebrows with a very grim face.

Let's move on.

Glancing at his face—

"He was sick, but he got better."

She opens her arms towards Leo again, and hugs the child.

"Hello, Your Excellency. I was very sick."

Leo bows his head and smiles at her, curving his lips.

Maybe it's because he ran, but his complexion looks better today thanks to his glossy hair and red cheeks.

"You look sick."

It isn't unreasonable to assume that Charles was being sarcastic .

"Is that right?"

"Today, your sickness looks so bad that you need care, right?"

"Haha."

"You look sick enough to sleep in the Noble Room, right?"

Should she pretend that she doesn't understand his sarcasm?

She decides to do so.

"Haha, that's right."

If I lie too openly in front of Leo...

She refrains from asking why in case he decides to drop another bomb.

"Wow, I can sleep in the Noble Room today. I'm so excited."

She holds Leo's hand, squeezes it, and lightly shakes it like she's excited.

"..."

Her awkward acting must seem very pathetic. Charles, who's been staring at her, looks down at Leo and orders.

"Stand up straight."

Leo walks out of her arms as if he's commanded by the brief words. He stands in front of Charles and glances up at him.

"How old are you this year? No, how many years have you been born?"

"It's been eight years, Your Excellency."

Rather than being 8 years old, Leo looks like he's only 4 years old with his small hands. He then folds his hands finely and bends down.

She looks at Leo with pride and a little bit of pity.

Our Leo is all grown up.

"Are you all grown up?"

"..."

Leo smiles brightly at her. It makes her wonder if anyone has ever thought he was speaking to a ghost when they saw him respond when no one was around.

He shouldn't know this.

She then glances up at Charles, noticing him.

"I see."

He then looks away from Leo without much thought.

Thank God.

She secretly calms down her heart before calling out for him.

"Leo."

"Did you two meet here?"

Green Cloak Hortman approaches with a greedy smile after he turns around.

At that unwelcome appearance, she sways away from him, saying only a brief hello.

That person's interested in Charles and not me.

.

.

.

.

T/N: My guess is that Charles is like, yo Curtis. Imma need you to go to that boutique and buys out all the pants there because she looks great and as a shitty communicator, I'm just gonna hand it to her without saying a single thing...
