Lily

I follow Remus into the library where he points towards a chair for me to have a seat while he closes the door behind me.

I take a seat and look around the library which was the size of the one at Hogwarts. There were different sections Like defense, potions, transfiguration, ancient runes and lots of history books. Some books were of advanced magic beyond what they teach at school level and some are muggle books including some classics and some cheap romance novels. All in all it was a treasure trove for book lovers and I was again envious of Potter for his resources.

I look at Remus who was pacing the room while I took in the details of the library. I was going to say that whatever he wanted to say he didn't need to say but he interrupted my thoughts with his words.

"Please tell me what James just said isn't true" Remus said, a pleading edge to his voice and he was looking down at his shoes waiting for my reply.

I feel bad for him that he has to constantly be in fear of people finding out about his problem and about the bigoted idiots who think they can treat him any differently from other people just because he isn't himself for one night for a month.

"Sit down Remus" I say in a low voice and he obeys me and occupies a chair.

"Whatever Potter said about me finding out that you are a werewolf is perfectly true and I don-" I raise my hand to stop him from interrupting me and speak clearly again "I don't see how this makes things any different and honestly I was quite hurt that you didn't trust me enough with your secret but it's your decision to make and I'm completely fine with it."

"Also as requested by Potter, this secret remains with me till the end of the time and I might understand if you are cross with me for finding out" I say and get up to leave the room when he speaks to me.

"Don't you think I'm a monster?" he mumbles under his breath.

I sit on the table opposite his chair and take his hand over into mine before speaking "Remus lupin, it's not your fault that you were bit by a werewolf and definitely not your fault that you transform into one once a month, but just because of that if you think I'm scared of you then you're an utterly complete idiot."

"And what type of monster folds his socks and colour codes it" I say breaking the heavy atmosphere and managing a chuckle.

He manages a smile and looks up to me my eye.

"Thanks a lot Lily" he says smiling at me.

"So when are they sending us our OWLs results?" I ask changing the subject.

"They are coming in tomorrow and I'm completely stressed out about them."he says standing and walking towards the door followed by me.

We reach the kitchen and find everyone already in the kitchen. Sirius dashed into Remus and hugged him while Marlene was talking to Potter about breakfast while Frank and Peter were discussing about quidditch while Alice listened to them.

"So who do you think this year Griffindor quidditch captain would be?" I ask and everyone turns to look at me.

"Since when do you care about quidditch?" Sirius asks and Alice nods.

"Oh.. I've always cared about quidditch but I'm just not hyper as you guys are" I say shrugging.

"I think it's James" said Alice smiling.

"And I agree" Frank said.

"I was thinking I might be the captain" Sirius said flicking his hair and taking a seat while Marlene snorted.

"You wish" Marlene said.

"What do you think Prongs" questioned Peter.

"Hmm, I think me and Fabian are running for it but also Marlene also maybe good if she wants it" he says

"Nah, I think Fabian doesn't even stand a chance but Marlene does" Peter said.

We discussed about that and also about who might be headboy which we had no doubt would be either Kingsley or Dawlish, both from Ravenclaw while Dorcas meadows(Gideon's girlfriend) was highly suspected to be head girl from Griffindor.

Even though the Marauders were not my favorite people, It would be wrong to say that I didn't enjoy their company. Potter, whom I knew to be loud was actually pretty quite and I was impressed that he didn't ask me out even once all this time. Peter whom I presumed to be quiet was actually loud than I expected while Remus and Sirius were constantly bickering and we were laughing at their expense. I was getting comfortable around them and once you know them, they were good company and I felt comfortable enough and not left out with the gathering. This was the charm the marauders had which included everyone among them and made them feel welcome as long as you are nice to them.

Alice and Frank would be staying for two more days along with Marlene who got permission to extend her stay. I felt bad that I had to go back to my house and face Petunia daily.

Sirius bought the cookies I bought along with the brownies which he somehow managed to forget at some place and Peter fetched some butterbeer.

We ate and drank while playing wizarding chess with Potter against all of us and he still beat the odds single handedly. He particularly liked my mums brownies and requested that I get him the recipe from my mum to which I agreed knowing that my mum would be more than happy to share it with anyone who appreciated her effort.

After one more lost game of chess (Damn Potter and his chess skills), we merrily are lunch and I went back to my room to pack my stuff.

When I went back, Alice and Frank went out to the backyard while Peter took Marlene to her house through floo to get some clothes.

"Let's go Sirius" I say to him who was sitting and disturbing a reading Remus.

"Prongs taking you back" he said and returned to his task at hand.

After a minute, Potter arrived into the hall through a door and asked me if I was ready to leave.

I curtly nod at him bracing the fearful experience of riding the knight bus again.

Much to my dismay, he walked back through the door he came from asking me to follow him which lead into a garage and just outside the garage was a candy red Ford Mustang waiting hotly.

"Whoa... Are we going to go back in that?" I ask not trying to suppress my grin or my excitement.

"Yeah, Sirius said you were not particularly fond of the knight bus sooo" he answers smirking at me.

"How did you get this and do you know how to drive" I ask him still ogling at the beauty in front of me.

My father being an engineer had a subscription of 'super machines' a muggle magazine which had pictures and stuff about latest engineering development. And ever since I saw this car, I was in love with it.

"I got it at the start of summer after I learnt how to drive from one of our family friends." he said rubbing his back of the neck and moving towards the door.

"Can I drive" I ask him not realizing that I did.

"Hmm, you sure?" he asked looking at me.

"If you're okay with it" I say sheepishly feeling guilty to put him in that position.

We weren't even friends to begin with and here I am asking if I could drive his brand new car and it makes me feel bad about myself .

"If you know how to drive, then I'm fine with it if you drive it till we reach the main road" he says smiling warmly.

After everything I put him through, he was still willing to be nice with me. He asked for my forgiveness and I realize that he let me drive not because of I was special or something. He would do the same with any of his friends and I just realized that he was special.

I walk to the drivers side which he held open for me and get in. He closes the door and gets in on the passenger side closing the door behind him, while I get ready to drive.
