My Brother from Hell

Chapter three

      Occasionally Trent or I would say something as the Council talked, but we mostly lissened. After about an hour or so of talking they came to a conclusion.

    "Your brother has broken the treaty and will serve life in prison. His magic will be stripped from him and his spells removed." Trent and I sighed in relief, a couple men came in and grabbed him. Yanking him to his feet they took him out of the room.

    "Earlier you said he wanted to kill the only three females? What exactly did you mean by three. We only know of one, and that is Elizabeth." One of the Council members said.

    "Well, the two children she is holding are both famales. They are only two months old, and according to law the Council does not need to be told of a birth until they child is at least six months old." The Council member who represented the werewolf kind slammed his hands on the table in front of him and stood up.

    "Trent! You should know better than that! Especially when there is only one adult female! You should have told us!" He yelled obviously enraged. I stood up,

    "Please sir, calm down. What's done is done, you can't change the past." I said trying to keep my voice calm and soothing. He sat down, the anger in his eyes faded away.

    "What are their names?" He asked pulling out a piece of paper and a pen.

    "Ann and Annie. Their twins" I said happiness ringing through my voice as I spoke my girls names. I saw him write down something.

    "Who's the father?" Another man asked, I do believe he was the human. I looked over to Trent and smiled. They all pointed to him and I nodded. "Well then, we're happy for you two." He smiled and stood up to walk out of the room. Showly they all left but the one who represented the werewolf kind, who i now know his name is Kai, stayed.

    "Trent, you really should have told me about this sooner. It might have saved you from that witch of a brother." He said walking up to us.

    "Don't worry about it, it's over and done with." I said, "How exactly do you know each other?" I then asked. They seemed to know each other fairly well.

    "Elizabeth, this is my step-father" Trent said. I stared shocked, I never would have guessed he was related to Trent in anyway. Then again they do have the same temper.

     "Oh, well it's a pleasure to meet you." I smiled and bowed my head slightly. He walked closer to me and looked at the girls.

    "They're beautiful, you did well son. And with such a beautiful young lady too."He smiled, "may I hold one?" I nodded and handed Annie to him.

    Just moments after this a guard ran into the room and came to a halt then yelled "The prisoner has escaped sir!" The guard ran back out. Kai calmly handed Annie back to me.

    "Trent I'm counting on you to keep them safe. The Council will do all we can to catch him again but we can't promise anything." Trent nodded as his step-father left the room. Trent walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me.

    "Don't worry Elizabeth. Everything will be alright." He smiled and kissed my forehead. Of course I was scared that my brother would come after us again but I felt safe. Trent made me feel safe.
