My Brother from Hell

Chapter four

We slowly made our way outside to my brothers car. Which surprisingly he didn't take. Then again Trent had the keys.

Kai had told us to stay safe. But the camp was not safe with the pack wanting to kill us. So we couldn't go there.

"What about my brothers home?" I said thinking it might be a good idea.

"That's actually not a bad idea Elizabeth. If he comes back home we will be there waiting for him." Trent said. I smiled, I had come up with a good idea for once.

We climbed into the car and drove off to my brothers house. The door was wide open. Consciously we made our way into the house. Trent sniffed the air and pushed me behind him.

"Who's there!" He yelled into the darkness.

"We could go with an old friend." A females voice rang out from the darkness. Trent growled and stood protectively in front of me.

"Show your self. So I can see your face" Trent said growling again. A figure walked out from the shadows. She was tall and skiny, with long curly brown hair, dark red almost brown eyes. Her heels made a clapping sound as she approached us. "Selena!" Trent yelled "You're unwanted." He growled through his teeth. Selena just continued to walk towards us.

"Is that's how you treat an old vampire friend of yours? I truly am hurt Trent" she frowned. "But in all honesty I'm not here for you. I'm here for them" she point to me and the girls. "I have been sent to capture them. And don't think I will go down without a fight. I'm stronger than I was last time you saw me." She smiled evilly and went to push Trent out of the way to get to me. But I only took a step back so my back was against the wall. As I walked back Trent lunged at her and tackled her to the ground.

"Elizabeth! Run!" Trent yelled at me as Selena bit his arm. I stood in fear. "Did you hear me! Run!" He yelled at me again. I shook my head and set the children on a table behind me. I gave them each a kiss and pounced onto Selena. She fell off of Trent, but quickly regained her ballance.

"I completely understand now." She smiled and walked out of the house she waved her hand back at us as she walked off, "this is not the last you will be seeing of me" the door closed behind her and silence fell on the room. Only to be broken by a scream from both the children and a howl from Trent. I turned around and kneeled down next to Trent.

"Let me see." I said and went to grab his arm. He pulled it away from my grasp.

"Go take care of the kids, I'll be fine." He said, his voice becoming weak. I raised my hand up and slapped him across the face. He looked at me shocked, I had never hit anyone until now.

"You are injured, and the injury is from a vampire at that. You need to be tended to and I will tend to you weather you want me to or not." I said with my voice full of dominance. He wimmpered and sat up. I helped him to the couch before running to the bathroom to look for any anti-venom that my brother might have. I was happy to find some.

I ran back out to Trent, who was almost unconscious, and stuck the needle into his bite wound. He howled as I injected the venom into his system. Grabbing some cold water and a wash cloth I put it on his forhead.

"Just lay still." I gave him a kiss on the forehead before going to get the kids. Rocking them to sleep I put them on a seat and sat down on the floor. Completely exhausted I let sleep engulf me.
