Annabeth kept her shoes in the side and entered her house. She made sure to lock it before heading towards her room. She entered her room and kept her grey bag next to the dresser. She drew the curtains close before she changed her attire. She changed into a baggy grey sweatshirt and dark grey track pants. Everyone thought that it was a weird combination, but she did not give a fuck. As the room was dark, she pulled open the curtains. She checked her neighbour's room in front, searching for someone. Disappointed, she walked to the kitchen to have a snack.
She took a pancake batter in the fridge and heated the pan to start frying it. Pancakes weren't her favourite snack, but she did not have any choice. Her mother, Athena Chase was at her office. While her father, Frederick Chase was attending a meeting. They would not be back till dinner.
When the pan seemed hot enough, she poured enough batter onto it and spread it evenly. After waiting for a few minutes, she could smell the caramelised sugar. It was time to turn she thought. She had never succeeded in flipping the pancake. It usually ended up getting torn. She took a flat spatula and carefully scraped it's sides. She flipped the pancake when she felt it coming off the pan. Thankfully the pancake did not tear. It rarely happened. Annabeth was not known for her cooking skills, every one knew that. So even getting her pancake flipped was a big task.
She cooked another two pancakes. Unfortunately, they did not end up like the first one. After switching the gas off, she ran over to the cabinet to fetch some Nutella. Nutella and pancakes were her all time favourite. Her eyes were searching for a particular white-capped box. When she finally found it, she took her spoon and placed enough nutella on her plate.
Satisfied with its look, she fetched her fork and dug in. Though the pancakes did not look very great, but they tasted perfect. It took around 30 minutes to eat and clean the mess she had made. After satisfied with what she had done, she walked back to her room and grabbed her towel. As today was a tiring day, she decided to freshen herself before starting her homework. She took a quick shower, not lasting more than 15 minutes. She was not a type of girl, who would spend her day trying to look pretty. She did not even know how to wear a lipstick!
Which is why she always ended up washing her face with lemon face-wash and little bit of powder over it. Though she did not look very pretty, she did not look that ugly too. By now you might have guessed that she was not among the populars'. It is not like she wanted to. She did not give a fuck about the status ladder. She always wanted to be what she was and not to impress others.
She came out of the bathroom, dressed. She took out her maths textbook and notebook. She had been given an assignment, and she was planning to complete it before dinner. She opened Trigonometric Ratios and started solving the homework one after the other. She would look out of her window to check if her neighbour came, every minute and would turn back disappointed.
She completed around 20 sums, when she heard her front door unlock.
"Hey Annabeth, we are back. Come here, lets have dinner" Her mother said.
She quickly folded her book and kept it in her bag before walking to the hall.
"Hello mom! Hi dad! "She greeted them.
Her mother nodded and walked to the kitchen. She grabbed some shallots, garlic and such aromats, frying them lightly in oil. She then opened the fridge and took out the curry paste she had made this morning. She then added some of it into the pan and caramelised it, making a quick curry. As she had prepared rice this morning, our dinner was ready within 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, Annabeth cleaned the dinning table and washed some plates to serve the dinner. They had our dinner in peace and after everyone finished their dinner, she cleaned the table and walked to her room.
When she walked into her room, she heard her neighbour close his bedroom door, frustrated. His name was Percy Jackson. He was the captain of the swim team and was very handsome. He had sea green iris and raven black hair. He was toned as he spent a lot of time in the sea. His eyes resembled his mood. They would be a peaceful sea when calm and a cyclone when he was angry.
He was arguing with someone aka his girlfriend. His girlfriend was a bitch in human disguise. . Her name was Drew aka the 'Queen Bee' of our school. And like all other 'Queen Bee' she was rich, wore short skirts and shirts and bully the so-called 'Nerds' i.e. Annabeth. But Annabeth would piss her off, by not giving her a damn.
Annabeth also knew why Percy, was so frustrated. This would happen every week or so. Percy being a 'Seaweed Brain' would make a joke or tell something? She being a dramatic pig would start a quarrel. Annabeth knew she was dating Percy because of his popularity and looks. But Percy did not seem to realise it. Percy would later take her on a date and act romantic, making her happy.
In her head, Annabeth knew that no one would understand Percy the way she does. But Percy never realises it.
