Liz's POV......

It had been a month since I started working here. A month full of good vibes and luck because not only was work amazing but my social life was never dull. Sammy Windel(I found out the receptionist's name who also happened to be Greg's best friend) and Greg had become really good friends. They were the ones to show me around the office, who was friendly and who was just a bitch. And mitches too. Yes men bitches. Our lunches were always lit.  We always had a topic to talk about. Even if it was just things in general.

Mida had also adapted well. In fact school was going so well for her that she had gotten an internship at an oil company for the summer and was bound for a middle eastern kingdom in two months. She was beyond ecstatic. She still kept minimal contact with her family, that being her brother only. She knew her parents still didn't approve of her not going home and so she had resorted to blocking them from her life and they only knew what her brother told them. I pitied the day they'll find out that she has tattoos covering half her body.

I had introduced Mida to George and Sammy on my second week at work and I was happy that they cliqued. In fact, since they became friends, it's like Sammy and George camp at ours every weekend.

Morgan seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth. We rarely saw him. And luck seemed to be on my side as I was yet to bump into him. And although we told each other everything, I was yet to tell my friends what had happened between us at the wedding. George had shown his suspicions and he'd asked me about it after he witnessed mine and Morgan's encounter on my first day but after I was reluctant to talk about it he let it slide.

So it came as a surprise when I was told by one of my colleagues that my presence was requested on the top floor or the floor of doom as we called it because apparently any junior staff summoned there was always let go, I was both surprised and fearful.

In fact I was so scared that while taking the elevator ride to the top floor, I prayed, even adding the sign of the cross for good measure. And no I'm not catholic. It's just a bad habit that Dee passed to me.

When I reached the floor, the place was silent except for the music playing in the elevator. There was only one door the whole floor, the door that led to the CEO and my arch nemesis. Despite the warm colors donning the walls and the office  decorations that seemed welcoming, the environment was anything but. I wondered if I was just feeling that way or did other people have the same sinking feeling. The receptionist's desk was empty which meant that I could walk in straight to the office. I decided to take my sweet time walking to the dreaded dark brown hardwood door.

But the walk was short and I took a deep breath before I knocked on the door twice.

"Come in Liz." came Morgan's voice from the other side. The voice that had left me sleepless for months on end after our escapade. Taking another deep sigh, I opened the door into the beautiful office of Morgan Price.

He had painted his office a chest nut brown. It was huge with ceiling to floor windows behind his chair which was a mahogany black leather seat. His desk was brown hardwood probably similar to that of his door. On top were two huge latest Mac desktops and documents next to the smaller Mac laptop which was currently open. On the left side of the room was a peanut butter brown leather  love seat. The carpet was black to match the desk and two seats were placed on the other side of the desk, one which was currently occupied by Edna.

"Come in, come in come take a seat." welcomed Edna with a wide smile that didn't seem suspicious but the fact that she was there with the CEO did anything but calm me down. Morgan was busy typing on the laptop and was yet to acknowledge my presence.

Saying another silent prayer, I walked towards the empty chair and sat down, saying a thank you.
Just then Morgan looked my way and my breath momentarily left my body when his beautiful green eyes met mine. I wasn't blind that I couldn't acknowledge that he was a beautiful man. And if our past interactions and the stories I heard about him were anything to go by, he knew it too. But it didn't mean that I was about to start fangirling over him.

"Good morning Liz. I trust you are well." greeted Morgan with his panty dropping smile. This man knew how to use his qualities well.
"Mr. Price. I'm well. Thanks for asking. I hope it's the same for the both of you." I replied with a smile of my own.
"I can't speak for Edna but I am well thank you." he replied his eyes staying with me.
"I'm well too thanks for asking. Now I'll get down to business as to why we summoned you. First of all, I'd like to assure you that you are not in any kind of trouble. As a matter of fact, I'd like to think that we summoned you for something that will benefit both parties."Edna began and I got comfortable taking a sigh of relief.
" You see Mr. Price is in a bit of a predicament. His assistant is on maternity leave thus leaving her position temporarily available. And it wouldn't have made sense to hire a temporary assistant. So we talked with your boss, and came to the conclusion that you should help Mr. Price for the few months as his PA. "she said and that sinking feeling came again. This stupid fucker. He was taking advantage of the situation and the smirk on his face as he watched my reaction said it all.
" It's not like I have an option here so I guess I'll go pack my stuff and bring them here." I said with a resigned sigh.
"Good. Now that that's sorted out, I need to attend a zoom meeting in thirty minutes so I'm giving you ten minutes to bring your things. That will leave you with enough time to join me for the meeting." he said and I figured that was the end of our conversation so I stood.
" Well, if you'll excuse me, I have to hurry back to my office. "I said excusing myself and I left the office.

Morgan's POV....

" I don't know what you have up your sleeve Morgan but I hope I won't loose her. " Said Edna once Liz had left the office.
Damn this woman could read me so well. It was scary.

" I don't know what you are talking about. All I needed was an assistant and I feel like since she's new she is perfect for the position. " I said.
" I hope that that is it and there's no funny business. Be careful with her." she warned before standing up.
" I have no ill intentions Edna. I promise. " I promised and it was true. I had no bad intentions.
