Elise POV....
We landed at around eight in the morning, the sun brightly shining over the landscapes of the beautiful city of Madrid. Although I had never had a bucket list of places I wanted to visit, seeing as I didn't think I would ever travel around the world, I wondered how I had never wanted to explore Madrid.
Upon landing, I went to prepare Meg who had woken up a few hours ago and had already showered, with my help of course. Morgan had decided that we would go out for breakfast before heading to the house and maybe if we weren't too jetlag, we would explore some of the city's destinations.
Taking our carry ons, mine and Meg's, we were directed to the waiting black escalade, where the chauffeur had opened the door for us. After thanking the crew, we walked out of the plane and into the car, with me holding Meg's hand.
The whole time that she had been awake, Meg had stuck by my side. Morgan had smiled at it and thought it cute which surprised me. This was because I actually thought he'd be alarmed by how quickly we had bonded with Meg. From our conversation before, he had stated that he hadn't brought any foreign people around her especially women because he feared that in case things didn't work out, she'd be affected. And her fragile state was a huge factor to consider. It was one thing I respected about him. And made me like him even more. Although I tried to fight it. The fact that he also stated that he hadn't been on a date or had sexual relations since Meg came into his life. Information that I welcomed well even though I didn't admit it out loud.
"Welcome Mr. And Mrs. Price. I hope you enjoy your stay here." said the chauffeur in a deep Spanish accent. I was about to correct him when Morgan beat me to it.
"Thank you Sanchez. Can you drive us the the best place for breakfast? If it's no trouble." Said Morgan.
"Of course sir." he said as he started to drive us out of the airport.
I wanted to ask him why he didn't correct him for assuming we were married but Meg was seated between us and it's not a conversation I wanted to have with her close by. I'd have to set the record straight though, once we were alone.
Meg had put her show on the tab and was busy watching it. She tagged my hand, silently asking me to join her. So I pulled her close and we began watching until I saw a flash of light like that of a camera flickering. I turned and found Morgan was the culprit, with a huge smile on his face unashamed.
"what was that for?" I asked purely out of curiosity.
"You looked cute and I couldn't let that go without a photo." he replied with a cheeky smile.
"Uncle M can be so embarrassing sometimes." said Meg in her tiny voice with a cute smile and a blush gracing her cheeks and we both turned surprised at her, me for talking and Morgan probably because she said such a big word for someone her age.
Morgan let out a deep chuckle that sent tingles down my spine and the pretty dominant female anatomy down there and I blushed but made sure to recover quickly because the last thing I needed was Morgan questioning me why I was blushing. Also I thanked God for my melanin because even when I blushed, it wasn't as obvious as for those with a lighter complexion.
"Baby girl, I'm allowed to document all aspects of your life. The cute, the bad and the embarrassing. So you have to get used to it." he replied kissing her forehead and I awed silently at the touching moment. It wasn't long before Sanchez pulled up at a restaurant and soon we were ushered in and directed to a table in a secluded area, courtesy of Morgan's name.
" Good morning Mr. And Mrs Price. And of course young miss price. My name's Gabriel and I'll be the one serving you today. " greeted the waiter, who happened to be a middle aged man, with salt and pepper hair styled back with a gel and a friendly smile.
Again I was tempted to correct him but Morgan decided to disregard the comment and went on to greet the waiter, who surprisingly had only a little bit of an accent.
"Thank you. Give us a few minutes to look at the Menu then we'll get back to you." he said and the waiter who swiftly placed the menus in front of us and gave us privacy.
The room we were dining in only had one other couple and as I looked around, I noted that it only occupied two tables.I took the initiative to order for both me and Meg, with her permission of course and Morgan again smiled at me for my forethinking.
I pretty much ordered bacon, eggs and sausages for the both of us, choosing to have some ice tea while I chose a vanilla milkshake for Meg. Morgan decided to order some blueberry pancakes with muffins and a cup of coffee.
It seems that we were all famished because we rarely talked as we ate, except for the occasional commentary about how the food was good and when I asked the waiter to bring a sort of puzzle game to keep Meg busy after she was done eating.Once we were done, Morgan paid the bill, leaving a huge tip for Gabriel for his effecient and professional service and we were soon on our way to the mansion.
Morgan had mentioned that we would be staying at a friend's villa for the time we were there. And I knew having met his boys club of five of his closest and richest friends through Alex (who was a part of the group) and Dee. So I had a feeling that Dante, spared no expense when it came to his villa. However even that had not prepared me for the beautiful villa we would be staying at. Especially how big it really was. It looked more like a castle, than a villa.
First of all, there was a long road from the main gate to the main entrance, the entire path was covered by perfectly manicured grass and a wonderful small patch of forest that I vowed to go explore when I got the chance.
"You better close your mouth before a fly makes it its home." he teased with a chuckle and I narrowed my eyes, in mock anger for his comment making him laugh out loud, his melodic deep voice doing things to me.Meg still held my hand all the way as the butler and house keeper greeted us. They were an old Spanish couple with warm smile and personality who welcomed us warmly. They spoke Spanish with Morgan for a bit before they took our bags upstairs.
"What did you tell them?" I asked after I was sure we were far behind them.
"oh I just told them that we would be sharing the room since they insisted that we were married. Meg's room will be across ours." he said with a cheeky smile."What?! Why didn't you tell them otherwise?" I said in a whisper so Meg couldn't hear us.
"They insisted. I couldn't tell them otherwise." he replied shrugging casually like all was well. But all wasn't well.
"You know what? This has gone on too far now. I'm going to tell them that that ain't it and tell them to take my stuff to another room." I told him, already moving towards Mrs. De Luca.
"Don't. It will only bring about more confusion and plus it's going to be alot of work trying to explain." he said holding my free arm, halting my movement.
"How hard is it going to be to tell them that we ain't married."
"Because the investors we are meeting know we are married and since we will be hosting them in a few days I figured if everyone went on with the lie then it would make our work less complicated." He explained but it did nothing to calm me.
"But the investors aren't going to come here.... That explanation makes no sense...." I told him.
"It's just a safe bet. Just in case we are forced to host them here." he explained and it somehow made sense. But I couldn't help but feel like there was something he wasn't telling me in regards to why he wanted us to act as a married couple.
"What about Meg?" I asked since I doubted she would be in on this conspirator plan of his.
"She won't be a problem. Trust me I have secured all loop holes." he said with a reassuring smile.
"I'm only agreeing to this because your company depends on it and you happen to be my boss. Otherwise this would be a totally different story." I told him firmly.
"I know. And I'm grateful that you are doing this for me. If it makes you feel any better, there's no one else I'd do this with." he said taking my hand in his as we began to walk again. At the back of my mind, I couldn't help but think that this plan would come to bite me in the ass. And it would be sooner rather than later. And I wished I listened to my gut so as to save myself the heart ache....
