Forty-seven mins of Linda's class, thats all I have to survive. Yeah, I survived the 'easy' part, but as soon as the bell rang I knew I was in for the worst. Everyone picks up their books and rushes out the door. I just sink deeper into my chair. Linda is erasing the white board, her back turned to me. After what seems like hours she turns around and faces me. Silence and eye contact. She starts to walk towards me, her high-heels clicking with every step. The silence is killing me. Even though I probably shouldn't I speak up.
"I'm really sorry Mrs. Tremaine. It wont happen again. I just got side tracked this morning, thats all. I really am-"
"Save it." She snarls, cutting me off. "This never would have happened if you only got up twenty minutes earlier and started walking."
"I really am sorr-"
"Apologizing won't get you anywhere. Just face the facts that you walk to school, and make it on time. Okay?" she snarls though her teeth, holding back a scream.
"Okay." I mutter under my breath.
"Now get out of my classroom." She whispers. Linda never whispers, except in public when she wants to yell and scream. I grab my books and rush out.
Lea is standing outside the room.
"You survived." She stated full of hope.
"Barely," I muttered. We walked to study hall in silence. We walked into the class and stopped in the doorway. There he was, Chris Hansen. The most gorgeous man in the whole school. His green eyes shimmering and his luscious brown hair makes him the only guy I dream about. Lea pulls me back to reality and drags me to a desk.
"Dreaming of prince charming again?" Lea says sarcastically.
"What? No," I deny. Lea doesn't buy it for a minute and shoots me a 'come on, I'm your best friend, don't lie.' look.
"Okay fine! maybe I was but that doesn't mean anything!"
"You have crushed on this guy for like three years now. Obviously it means something."
"Yeah, well, it's not like a guy like Chris would ever go out with a girl like me." I confessed.
"You don't know what could happen if you don't try." Lea states hopefully. it doesn't matter what she says because its not going to happen. He has no idea who I am. But of course he knows who Mia is.
Chris gets up and walks over to Mia and her clique. He's talking up a storm and Mia is loving every minute of it, twirling her hair and chewing her gum obnoxiously. Every time he says something she giggles.
Yeah, sure theres hope for me.
