With nothing better to do on a hot Saturday afternoon, the Wattersons decide to set up a lemonade stand for the residents of Elmore. But...unbeknownst to what is happening at their own home.
"Guys, the people are here! Start filling up rose cups!" Darwin ordered.
"On it!" Richard said as he quickly began filling their red plastic cups full with lemonade.
"Hello Anais. Can I have a cup of lemonade?" Hector asked from above.
"Sure! Here you go!" Anais replied while handing the giant the drink.
Soon more and more people came by.
"Hey." Carrie said.
"Hey Carrie! Want some lemonade?" Darwin asked excitedly.
"Sure. Thanks Darwin." Carrie said while taking the cup from the fish, who was already turning red.
Meanwhile another voice came from the other side of the sidewalk that made Gumball's heart jump.
"Hey Gumball!" Penny said.
"H-hey Penny." Gumball said almost jumping.
"May I have some lemonade?" She asked.
"Definitely!" Gumball said. And in the blink of an eye, he was walking towards her happily with the lemonade.
"Thanks." Penny said while smiling at the blue cat.
"N-no problem." Gumball said. By this point, he was as red as a tomato. Penny noticed this, and found it cute. But she kept that to herself.
"So, why are you guys handing out lemonade?" Penny asked. She was trying to make conversation. But Gumball seemed to be in some sort of trance.
"Gumball?"
"Wha-? Oh! Uh, you know just because it's a nice thing to do. And it's super hot outside, and-"
"And we had nothing better to do." Anais piped up.
"Really? You guys look busy all the time!" Penny said.
"Wait...you watch us?" Gumball asked.
Penny blushed. "Not like that! It just that you and Darwin run around the school all the time! It kind of hard not to notice!"
Gumball was flabbergasted. Penny, the girl he had a crush on since they first met, noticed him?
Penny was shocked herself. He thought she never noticed him? How could she not? Sure, he got into trouble sometimes, but doesn't everyone? Besides she thought it was cute how he always looked at her when he thought she wasn't looking.
"So, what are you doing tomorrow?" Penny asked.
"As Anais said, nothing I don't think."
"Well, do you maybe want to go to the park or something?" Penny said while looking away and blushing.
"Like a date?" Gumball asked with enthusiasm.
"Yeah, or not! I mean...if you want too." Penny said while blushing even harder.
"I'd love too!" Gumball said. His heart was racing. And the only thing stopping him from blushing was...actually he didn't know. He just wasn't for some reason.
"Really?" Penny asked looking shock and happy at the same time.
"Yeah! Why wouldn't-" He said be fore being hugged in a flash. He was blushing furiously now, and he hugged her back.
"So, when do y-you want to meet up?" Gumball said while feeling like he was about to faint.
The two separated. "How about at 4:30 (pm)?"
"4:30 sounds great." Gumball said while looking into her eyes with complete wonder. Penny smiled.
"Well, see you tomorrow Gumball!" She said before giving him a wink and walking away.
"Bye Penny." Gumball said. As soon as she was out of sight, he toppled over onto the floor blushing madly. He seemed to be frozen.
"Gumball? Gumball!" Darwin said while shaking the cat out of his trance.
"Wha- What?" Gumball asked.
"Dude we need your help! Mom left because she had something going on at the Rainbow factory. It's all down to us! I can't have you sleeping on the job!" Darwin said.
"Ok ok fine." Gumball said as he dusted himself off.
"Good. Hey Banana Joe and Anton are here! Hey guys!" Darwin said while running over to the table once again and completely forgetting about Gumball.
"What a Saturday." Gumball said while looking up at the sky dreamily and walking back over to the lemonade stand.
"What do you mean a crater?!" Nicole demanded through the phone. The responder sounded panicked and frantic.
"There's this crater thing in one of the factory's substations! But the inside looks like space! It started out small. Like a rip in a piece of paper, then it started shaking the ground, and grew larger and larger! Before it started sucking everything in the room into it!"
"Ok. Have you called 911?" Nicole asked in a calms tone of voice.
"Yeah we did. Their here along with some scientists who keep calling this thing 'The Void'"
"Right. Has it gotten bigger?"
"No. It seemed to calm down. Now it's just, a hole. Looking at it is like staring into deep space. It unlike anything I would've ever imagined."
"Ok. I'm on my way."
