CHAPTER 10

"Darling can we talk?" I heard my Mom probably on the door. She was knocking kaya wala na akong nagawa kundi papasukin siya.

When I opened my door, that's it. I just opened it and went back to my bed. I scrolled into my phone again, wondering why Jupiter wasn't asnwering my calls and messages.

I saw on the side of my eyes na umupo si Mom sa bed ko. Still not knowing what to say.

"What? Are you just going to sit there and watch me? Because if you do, you can just exit the room, please." I said calmly but I know that's harsh.

"I'm sorry about you're Auntie," she started.

"You don't have to say sorry in behalf of her Mommy!" I can't help but to shout.

Napapikit si Mom at may namumuong luha sa kanyang mga mata nang tumingin siya sa akin.

Parang nawala ang galit ko nang nakita ko siyang mahina sa harapan.

"When will you ever fight Mom? Even just for yourself?" I asked her.

I bet, ever since they were kids gina-ganito na nila si Mommy.

"Is it because they're older than you Mommy? Ganun ba?" I asked her. I'm desperate for answers.

"They're my older sisters, I should respec-" I cut her off before she could even finish the word.

"Respect Mommy? They do not deserve that! Aren't you done doing things for their favor? Hindi ka ba nasasayangan sa pera na pinaghihirapan niyo ni Dad tapos sila tanggap lang ng tanggap? Magrereklamo pa kung konti lang?" inis na sabi ko.

"Honey, that's not your problem anymore okay? Those things are for adults only okay?" mahinahong sabi niya sa akin.

I didn't say anything. I just shut my mouth up. There's no use arguing with her. She's my Mom. My enemy is my Aunties, not her. She don't deserve my anger.

"Are you really not seeing someone right now honey?" she asked me the same question I was asked lately.

"No, Mom. No one dared to." I told her honestly.

"Jupiter?" she asked, with her hopeful eyes.

"We're just friends," I clarified.

Tumango siya sa akin. Not knowing what to say again.

"Why are you keep on asking my that anyway?" I asked them. That's weird.

"You'll know sa graduation mo. Good night," she smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

She left me alone after that.

After that day, everything get weirder and weirder.

I mean Jupiter is still the Jupiter that I know. It just like, something's off.

Yannie and Nana looked like they want to comfront me about something.

My Mom and Dad are looking at me like I'm a culprit getting ready to do a murder.

Just what the hell right?

"Malapit na ang birthday mo," Jupiter said.

"Oh..." I just said.

My birthday?

I checked my phone, sa sunday birthday ko na pala. Lol, I didn't even noticed it. Is this why everyone is weird?

"Right," I said getting awkward now. Siya pa ang unang naka-alala.

"What gift do you want?" he asked me.
