You turned the 'Open' sign to 'Closed', the satisfaction that small action gave instantly washing you with relief.
Another day done.
Pulling your sweater tighter over yourself to keep warm, you made your way down the baron sidewalk.
It was quiet tonight, a stark contrast to the jumble of thoughts bouncing around in your head.
You had spent the rest of your shift obsessively cleaning the entire café, desperately trying to get Mr. 742 and Taemin off of your mind.
Which was no small feat considering they had both left you messages that you were actively refusing to read.
Knowing that you weren't going to feel better any time soon, you opted for the longer route home, turning left at the crossroads you usually went straight through.
You went over the scene in your mind a couple times as you slowly, and sluggishly, trudged down the street.
You didn't know his name, and you knew that bothered you.
It was about the only thing you were absolutely sure of at this point.
Taemin was right in trying to warn you, despite how rude it seemed at the time and you know that you would have said the same thing if the situation had been reversed.
It was a dangerous game you were playing, this 'will they, won't they' thing with your masked 'Genius'.
Emotionally, not physically of course.
You knew that he had no real evil intentions at least.
Every day you were driving yourself mad thinking about him, wondering what he looked like under that mask and dying to know if he was just carelessly toying with your feelings.
Tormenting yourself trying to figure him out, trying to figure out anything about him.
The truth was, you truly didn't know a single thing besides the fact that he liked black coffee.
And it took you until this moment to realize just how gut-wrenchingly horrible that felt.
Your thoughts twisted and turned through your brain so violently, that you didn't realize the woman standing in front of you sweeping the sidewalk until you had just about walked straight into her.
"Oh!" the woman called in surprise, jumping slightly at your sudden intrusion in her actions. "You frightened m- Y/N!?"
You eyes widened as you caught a full glimpse of the woman in question.
"Ahjumma?" You replied, feeling equally as surprised as she looked.
"Oh dear! It's so lovely to see you!" She said brightly without hesitation.
"It's nice to see you too!" you replied honestly, her positivity washing away a small amount of your current depressive state.
"That Taemin won't stop talking about you, you know!" she gushed, rushing over to grab your hands in hers. "He seems in such high spirits, and I suppose I have you to thank for that!"
You blushed, unsure of how to respond.
Taemin liking you wasn't a foreign concept, although totally unreasonable.
And the fact that he talks to his Ahjumma about you was just a whole other ballpark of adorable.
"You tell that boyfriend of yours that he must bring you by again sometime, I have a new recipe that I want you two to try out! Okay?" She said with a cheery laugh, making your heart swell.
