"Ok, it's not my fault you can't hold a plate." I stare at the mess Daisy made on the kitchen floor.
"I thought I saw a spider!" She raises her voice while tears stream down her face.
"I don't care, I'm still not cleaning your mess."
"Why are you crying?" Jamie comes in.
"Because I dropped my cake," she whines.
"You're crying because you dropped a cake?" Jamie chuckles.
"Don't laugh! It was the last piece and I really wanted it!" The tears start coming faster. "And I'm PMSing, so leave me alone." She turns around and heads down the hall. Soon there's the sound of the door closing.
"I don't think I'll ever get over how dramatic she can be." Jamie giggles and leans on the counter next to me.
"It's not something you get over. You just get used to it and learn to live with it." I sigh. "And we're living with her next year, so you better just accept it." I nudge her.
"I'll use you as my buffer."
"How would that work?" I giggle.
She shrugs. "I have four months to figure it out." She leans in and presses a soft kiss on my lips.
"Get a room!" Jess' voice makes us pull away. "Enough with the PDA."
"Just because you and Scott do your thing on the down low, doesn't mean we'll do the same," I say and pull Jamie back for another kiss.
"That was completely uncalled for, Allison." She scoffs.
"What's with all the drama today?" Jamie asks against my lips.
"Why is there a piece of cake on the floor?" Jess eyes Daisy's mess.
"Daisy dropped it and then cried," I explain.
"Sounds about right." She starts scooping the cake out of the floor and throws it in the trash. "I was thinking that maybe we could light the fire pit again and make s'mores to celebrate our last night here. What do you think?"
"Let's go," I say and she starts pulling out food from the cabinets.
I lay on the couch outside with my head resting on Jamie's lap and my eyes locked on the sky. The scent of the s'mores floats around us and the heat from the fire warms me while I hold the blanket over my body.
"Why does Henry Cavill have to be so hot?" Daisy sighs while looking at her phone. "Honestly, this man could run me over with a car that I would ask him to do it again." I laugh.
"So you're saying that Superman is better?" Jamie asks.
"Don't start with this again!" I yell before either of them could say another word. "We already settled on 'it doesn't matter'."
"Just because you decided that, doesn't mean we agree," Daisy replies.
"Let's just stay on the Henry Cavill topic," Jess says. "He's too hot for his own good."
"I second that." I raise my hand. "God only knows what I'd do if I ever met him."
"Should I be jealous?" Jamie giggles.
"Of course not. There's no competition." I smile as I look at her. "He definitely wins." I laugh while shock fills her face.
"So that's how it is," she says and I just nod.
"You two are disgusting," Jess mumbles.
"What's wrong with you?" I sit up and turn to her. "Has Scott not been doing-" I cut myself with wide eyes. Shit, Daisy doesn't know about this.
