It took Hoseok some time to understand what just happened.
"Did he just.. call me?" Hoseok mumbled.
That was unexpected.
Meanwhile, he didn't understand why Jungkook asked him the reason he left.
Isn't that quite obvious?
After everything Jungkook, the younger still was confused as to why Hoseok left? It surprised Hoseok.
Hoseok tried. He really did. He tried to manage things with Jungkook. He made sure to take care of the younger, just the way Mrs. Jeon told him to. He made sure to not meddle in the younger's affairs, yet all Jungkook did was to hit him?
Yes, that was the most saddening part of it.
And, no matter how much Hoseok tried, he just couldn't bring himself to hate Jungkook.

"Great? You're great.. W-without me?" Jungkook held the railing of his balcony tightly, looking out.
"You're doing great?"
Remembering how the elder didn't pick up the call after the very first one, Jungkook spoke, "You didn't even bother to pick up, did you?"
He didn't really realise when a single tear rolled down his eyes.
"Do I not have another chance, Hoseok?"
After what you did? No! The voice in his head seemed to say.
"I know, I don't... But"
Jungkook looked at the clock that was hanging against the wall.
It was two at night now.
"Oh well, you're great without me" Jungkook laughed at himself.
Walking back to his room, he laid down on the bed.
His eyes felt heavy.
Wrapping his blanket around his torso, he was about to go to sleep.
"I don't know but.... I.. I l-love you" He mumbled.
