"Sorry about that Mira!" The girl said with a cheerful smile.
All I could do is stare up at her, a friend I haven't seen in such a long time was now practically standing above me. She had beautiful blonde hair that was shoulder length, and beautiful ocean blue eyes. Her hand moved from my cheek to my hair, pushing it aside from out of my face and blocking my eyesight to behind my ear.
"Since when did you get Glasses Mira?" She asked with a soft voice, as sweet as iced sweet tea.
"U-uh, oh last February.. I have only had them for close to a year." I managed to croak out. Why was I stuttering? Or so shy? She had been a childhood friend of mine. One I Haven't seen in a few years. I had missed her a lot, and it was unbelievable that she was standing in front of me.
"Come on let's get you back to your feet!" She cheered taking my hand and lifted me to my feet.
"Thanks" I said .
As I stood on my feet Evelyn had been smiling. I looked at her and observed her face and everything else about her. She looked so nice. And it was nice seeing that she hadn't changed her style much. I could tell from the pearl earrings she wore meant she still had a thing for pearl earrings or jewelry in general.
"I didn't think I'd see you again..At least not after moving" I told her.
We had started to walk towards a bench in front of the school. Sitting side by side Evelyn and I began to chat together as we waited for the bell to ring. Evelyn held my hand and looked at me smiling. Her smile was bright and cheerful, bright enough to light the darkness in someone's heart.
"So how have you been?" Evelyn asked with a sweet voice.
"Fine and you?" I replied
"Same as always" Evelyn said , sighing at the end.
I gave her a smile, Evelyn and I had been close and good friends since I was a infant. Our parents had known Each other for a while too, and they told us stories of when Evelyn and I first met. A few years ago my family and I moved away and I hadn't seen Evelyn Since. My parents also didn't say anything about Evelyns family moving here.
"You know, those glasses really suit you." She said
"Oh thanks"
My attention shifted towards surveying my surroundings again, Evelyn was rambling on and her voice began to sound muffled as I was focusing on looking around. I know this is supposed to be a new school and all but, something was just off..But I couldn't figure out what. I couldn't help but think of all the bad things that might be wrong. How could I not? I'm in a unfamiliar area that I have only been in a few times and I have no experience on what goes on in this area. My anxiety had just been heightened and I was having a hard time not believing that there wasn't a crazy axe murderer who was dressed as a student and attended this school as one.
"Mira!" Evelyn shouted
I had jumped by the sound of her voice.
"Y-Yes!?" Wow, I must really sound stupid.
"Were you listening?"
"yeah! Totally! Uh- Evelyn there's a leaf in your hair by the way-"
I gestured my hand towards her hair. Evelyn shifted moving her hand up to her hair and pulling the leaf out of her hair. She looked at it before setting it down on the ground. So gentle, I admired how nice and gentle my friend was. Out of the two of us, she's the gentle one. But me, I guess I can be seen as rough and quiet. The freak show is a good way of putting it.
