Just One Year

4- Moving Day

     (Joys POV) When I wake up I panic, I accidentally stayed the night at miles house. So I write him a note and leave it on his desk and run home. When I get there luckily my mom and dad are still asleep so I run up to my room and sleep for what feels like 5 minutes, when I hear a pounding on the door. I rush out of bed and get dressed, my mom beats me to the door though and I hear her say "no, she's not sixteen" so a barge in "Yes I am!" "No, your not!" My mother says and shoved me back with her elbow. The place keeper speaks "mam, if the child says she's sixteen I have to believe her. The reason to that is, parents have lied so their kids could stay with them before." I have my packed stuff ready and in my hand so the place keeper guides me to the car and we start our way to my soulmates house and we end up driving all the way across town so I know I definitely won't know this person and that also means my soulmate isn't miles. When we get there the place keeper walked up to a door and then walks back with no one. I peek behind him and see a mother crying. I start to panic as thoughts run through my head, did something happen to him, did he pass away, is he hurt? When the place keeper starts driving I ask, "where is my soulmate? Is he ok?" He responds with "He's perfectly fine, he's just at a friends house" "oh, ok" I say.

We drive back into my part of town and stop at—
—Jackson Rivera's house?!? My soulmate is friends with Jackson?!? Jackson Rivera has been my crush since 2nd grade. He has a best friend Brandon peak and their other friend Emily Emmett. Emily and Brandon used to date but they broke up two months ago when Emily turned 16 and she figured out that Brandon wasn't her soulmate. By the time I finish my thought the door to my right opens and Brandon sits down. He looks terrified, I mean, I would be too if I stayed at a friends house and didn't know the next morning I would be leaving to my soulmate without getting to say goodbye to my parents. The place keeper starts talking "ok, so you guys may have any to talk and all but it's prohibited to talk on the car ride. There will be proper introduction time, but that is not now. Understand?" We both reply at the same time "understood"
