Keigo stuck his leg out over the edge, letting it hover. Why did he keep on vacillating? He shut his eyes, tilting forward up to the point where he could physically feel his body be immersed in the gravitational pull.

The drop he was anticipating never occurred, however, and it felt like the world experienced a strange glitch in the matrix.

Pressure gripped at his waist and caused him to whizz backwards through the air with a gulp engorged in his throat. He stumbled to keep himself on his feet, wings flapping in a rush of trepidation before he hit something warm, something secure.

In his haze of melancholic incredulity, he didn't quite comprehend what was happening at all. His chest hurt all the same, the only striking difference was that now his hips did too. He felt infuriated, exhausted, and numb. Now that he had finally decided to move on, the past pulled him right back.

"What are you-" he choked out as he met the sharp gaze of the villain behind him. His own eyes formed mere slits in his face, the golden hues glimmering through in a pungent glare. Had he not he felt so drained both emotionally and physically, nothing would stop him from smacking the pieces of metal out his crispy face.

The look in Dabi's eyes, however, was different. It wasn't quite the same dull gaze Hawks had gotten to know, sometimes it sparked with a familiarity that caused Keigos heart to flutter. He hated it. God, he hated it..

Silence encased them, leaving the hero to wonder why the other had bothered to stop him in the first place. The colours of the sun got darker as the torching star dipped down past the horizon, leaving the colours to paint the sky in a fiery pigment.

Red. Red was romantic love, and it was physical passion. Red was violence, anger, and aggression. It was Touya Todoroki and it was Keigo Takami. It was love, it was hate, all the above.

The colour seeped into Keigos mind, drowning out his thoughts and leaving him merely the crust of the man he used to be. The colour deafened his senses, it consumed him in its blistering nature. He felt red in every bone of his body, every nerve, and every cell. Yet, the feelings this colour awoke were strangely hard to differentiate.

"I'm sorry"

How many times was he supposed to be receiving apologies from a villain these days? It seemed surreal, Keigo could not recall ever receiving a genuine apology from a villain before.

He sighed deeply, slightly incensed by the obsolete words, and straightened up his slumping shoulders before taking a step back. He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, crossing his arms over his chest. "Yeah? What are you sorry about this time?"

Dabi looked so awfully conflicted, it almost made Keigo feel guilty for being snappy. His eyes told him he was switching between his consciences on repeat, struggling to carry out the part of him that he knew Hawks wanted him to be. It was a perpetual internal battle, one Keigo could not quite understand.

"I.." The villain had made a start to his attempt of explaining himself, the words struggling to make their way up his throat. "I didn't say goodbye properly.." he proposed, adverting his gaze to look down at his feet. After everything they had went through, he was the one shying away. Keigo was upset nevertheless, but he couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips.

"You didn't" he settled, placing his hands in his pant pockets as his wings folded to rest at his back. The tension between them was impossible to look past, yet it was just as hard to determine what emotions were laced within them.
