AU: Modern CEO

Zhongli leaned out of his window while lighting up his cigarette. He recently left his position as a CEO of one of the biggest companies. He simply... got bored. It was just a routine to him. So now, with new found peace, he could finally do what he always wanted. Yet he didn't expect to fall into the nicotine jail. He sighed, while smoke left his lips. It was nice to just look outside, watching those few cars on the dark street. He was surprised, that someone at this hour, even was going somewhere. He looked at his clock. 3:23. It wasn't like nightmares haunted him. More like his own thoughts. Was it a good choice? Shouldn't he stay a bit longer? Was it worth it? Deep down, he knew it was worth it, but those thoughts never exactly left his head. It was eating him inside. He inhaled the smoke into his lungs again before exhaling and closing his eyes for a few moments. He let the wind play with his hair until he opened them again looking at the stars. "Everything ends..." he said to himself quietly. He didn't know how much time he spends just looking outside while smoking that one cigarette until he heard a little meow from the ground. He chuckled a bit, before he put out the cigarette and leaned down to pet his little ball of fur. "Now we have only each other." He knew the animal couldn't understand him yet... he was glad, that not everything changed.
