Chapter 5 - Orders Are Orders

Amber's POV

So.. what happened last night was strange. It seems that his pendant means more than anything so.. he willingly surrenders.

Jean thinks that he's not a bad guy at all for some reason. Despite his attempt to rob Diluc at Dawn Winery..

Jean said she would pay for the damages so.. Saiken is now indebted to Jean. As of now Saiken is my apprentice knight.

Also it's a chance to somehow tie things together and find clues about Lumine's brother despite the two coming from different worlds..

But we are trying everything and I need to find a clue.. I just have to. I've seen Lumine smile here and there, but the person she misses dearly is her brother..

I just want Lumine to be happy. She's worried and doing as much as she can to look for her brother. That's why she joined up with me to become a knight.

As knights were are able to freely travel around Mondstadt and find any clues. Then after me and Lumine would probably look all over Liyue as well.

But now.. I have Saiken as my apprentice. On Jean's orders and.. I can't disobey her.

So here I am. Walking around Wolvendom to see any suspicious activities. Even if there's Cider Lake protecting Mondstadt capital- Jean has a bad feeling about Wolvendom.

She fears that the abyss mages are able to attack Mondstadt by crossing Cider Lake somehow and flank the entire forces because we only have a few guards looking over Cider Lake and Wolvendom.

So far.. we found nothing.

Also.. about the star that fell from the sky.. Mona disappeared on us. Seems like she's.. doing something. I wonder what happened to that star. I'm sure Lisa is on the case right now.

"Paimon is hungry."

"Hmm.. Amber, shall we rest and find a cooking pot?"

"I'm sure we won't find anything here in Wolvendom. The wolves attack the hilichurls sometime so.. well- Let's keep looking. Sometimes the Hilichurls would camp outside of Wolvendom and since we are here.. let's just walk the extra distance."

"Alright, Amber." Lumine sticks close to my side and she seems really suspicious of Saiken.

Paimon.. well let's just say that Saiken has already domesticated her. Apparently to tame Paimon.. you just have to feed her.

"So Saiken! You never really explained how your weapon can turn into humans! What kind of spell did you use? Paimon has never seen anything like this before."

"Ah.. Right- Yeon is the sword and Hee is the scabbard. Although their real names.. I don't know. It's been three hundred years. You know.. they weren't like this at all. They were human. Then.. I don't know the details and they don't remember either, but let's just say that these two are cursed. They are now weapons used for war. The scabbard here can destroy anything. Like so!" Saiken unsheathes his sword and plants the blade into the ground.

Then he smashes a rock using the scabbard and the rock breaks into pieces.

I've never seen anything like this.. usually claymore users are able to break stones, but their claymores are high quality weapons.

This is just some cover for the sword!

"As for my blade.. well- if you try blocking my attack.. hmm.. how can I put this? It's a sword that can cut twice. So best if you dodge my attacks rather than blocking or countering it. You'll receive a second cut and it can range from anywhere on your body from non lethal to lethal. It's unreliable at times, but Yeon really shines when someone bleeds. The second cut will always go through and someone will bleed. When Yeon taste blood- She wants more. So any injuries I received before will be healed because Yeon tasted blood. Not only that- She can also heal my fatigue, stress, depression, anxiety, tiredness, drowsiness, and even eliminates any viruses in my body so I don't get sick."
