"Outrider Amber reporting for duty!"

"Ah, Yes. You're finally here, Amber."

"I didn't mean to keep you waiting acting Grand Master."

"Ahaha it's okay, Amber. So, how was the wind festival?"

"It was the best, Jean. I had so much fun last night."

"Oh? Was it because you were spending time with Lumine?"

"W-well.."

"Ohhhh so that's how it is hmm?"

"D-don't give me that smug look acting Grand Master.."

"So about your apprentice last night. Mona filled me in on everything. I find it to be true, really. He can't even use those guns of his despite him showing us how it works. His sword? I have noticed that it's a unique feature of him and it's gone. The fact that he doesn't remember anything about his past life.. anyways he doesn't have the captain role anymore. Just watch out for him, okay? He's your apprentice after all."

"I- I understand, acting Grand Master. Although.. why me?"

"Your energy and attitude. Any other knights.. I don't think they can help Saiken in anyway, but you can. Besides- you worked with Lumine who is of a different world. I'm sure you can work with Saiken, right?"

"Acting Grand Master! Acting Grand Master! I'm sorry to intrude but this is an emergency! We got a problem! A big problem! Hilichurls! They- there's so many of them! It's the biggest raid we've seen yet!"

"What?!" The acting Grand Master slams her hands on the table. Her face filled with fear and frustration. "Where?"

"The front gate only!"

"Okay.. Cider Lake still protects us.. who's there at the front gate?"

"A handful of knights! They responded quickly but there are some casualties already! The notable knights there are captain Kaeya, the honorary knight Lumine, and the.. captain of the commando squad, Saiken."

"I see.. well Saiken isn't a captain anymore, but that doesn't matter right now. I'll have to ask Lisa to help me out.. it's been a long while since Lisa was been taken to action. It's all the front gate huh.. then the best approach to defend Mondstadt is to leave the front gate open. Hilichurls aren't that intelligent so they'll go for that opening when in reality we'll be funnelling their forces into one straight line. From there we can ambush them from the sides here and here as soon the Hilichurls enter Mondstadt."

Jean points at the entrance of Mondstadt. She plans to have the knights to be stationed near the entrance and at the side for the most basic of ambushes ever seen. Although Hilichurls are dumb.. so..

"We'll have knights on top of the walls of course. Arches will rain fire while we poke them at the sides. Chop the line in half and their formation and numbers will fall in an instant- You hear that..?"

"Hear.. what?" The knight looks extremely terrified.

Jean takes a look out her window and gives me a very.. worried look..

"They broke through the walls.. they'll enter Mondstadt right here and now.. the citizens?"

"Already evacuated to the catehrdreal, acting Grand Master!" The random knight begins to cry a bit.. from fear it seems.

"Shit- they're going to flank Kaeya and the others like this! Gather up our forces! It's all or nothing right now! Let them in Mondstadt but save my men! We'll have to draw the line and go full defensive! Tell the others to retreat immediately! I'm going after Kaeya and the others! We'll find a way back into Mondstadt. Also.. Klee is permitted to go all out."
